the mobile phone is just for mine i am on quite a good contract 500 anytime any network mins and unlimited texts cause i work those long shifts i tend to use it (not all the texts) i also have a bar on the home phone for mobiles so if ever son wants to phone a mobile he has to use mine (which is alot as he doesnt put any money in his phone) i could go payg but i wouldnt get the 500 mins for £40 a month never mind the texts and some friends are payg so they are cheaper texting and wont phone so i spend a good bit of my time texting them
Hello gorgeous...
Why don't you keep the block on your landline and force the son to use these override providers to make calls to mobiles.

Hi el, sorry I haven't posted for a bit - sorry your holiday was a bit of a battle, but well done for coming back and getting straight back into the swing of things. Didn't really spot anything on your SOA that others haven't already mentioned - you're such an expert moneysaver now that there's probably not many areas you can cut back!
One thing I'm doing is being more strict with the shopping - I'm trying to make a list and stick to it, because I realised I'm spending about £10 a week on non-list items (£520 per year!!)."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250 -
thanks z that is under investigation along with everything as of tomorrow ..snaggles i'm thinking about the shopping myself to be honest ...i'm sitting here thinking i would love to have the time (and inclination) to do more os but to be honest i just dont ..and i love my fresh(non processed) food (which is usually more expensive) but will try and even cut £20 a month from it i think and be more strict even just eating what we have bought and not chucking stuff out will help...
well operation recovery begins offically tomorrow ...we just got back from london so we have no more excuses for over spending i managed to save a bit of the money i had from the cheaque and am gonna put it towards one of the visa's (will check the apr first )...we had an amazing time a few hic-ups (but i think that was to be expected) i would recommend london before dublin or cyprus any day and will deff be going back for another short trip...if anyone has the oppertunity to go see a west end show i would recommend avenue Q ....hilarious....phantom was ok the theatre was rubbish wouldnt recommend it...
even though we wernt paying i was very mse in my approach
big huge thanks to sarah needle for the ticket for maddame taussauds it came in very handy....we got from gatwick airport to charing cross for £30 for the 5 of us i had been quoted £50(plus pennies) but we got a saver 4 group thing ...i also booked the origonal tour on line saving a few pounds..we used this web site advertised on the day out forum for other tickets and saved more money and we went to leicester square for the cut price theatre tickets for the second night ..i booked our rooms on line using quidco and a cheap hotel finder site saving a fortune our sons room was meant to be £150 a night i managed to wangle it for £183 for the two nights ours was meant to be £240 a night (x2 for two rooms) i got each of them for £226 for two nights ....i have shown to my inlaws i'm not a total waste of space and infact they came to rely heavily on me throughout the trip saying (very very often) "we could never have done this" "wow you saved us this much"(not that i showed them how much i had saved them but my fil likes to check prices everywhere he goes then asks how much he paid etc)
anyway not that i'm boasting (well ok a little bit) but i think they may hopefully cut me some slack now (wont hold my breath though)
and the new regime continues start as i mean to go on0 -
I can't believe they thought you were a waste of space, that's horrible - you're a superstar, and I'm glad they're starting to see that! Well done on all the moneysaving - I think I will take you with me next time I go on holiday.."I wasn't wrong, I just wasn't right enough.":smileyhea97800072589250
