I just typed a long post and then my computer crashed so I lost it all!

Anyway, basically it said don't apologise for posting, I enjoy reading your diary! And sorry things are a bit tight for you at the moment, but I have great faith in your ability to cope.

Also said I was very impressed with you gardening in the middle of January lol - I haven't touched the garden since November!! I'm planning on growing lettuce and possibly something else (not sure what yet) this year.....any suggestions? I have a reasonably large, unused bed at the bottom of the garden - it gets quite a bit of sun, but also catches the wind so will have to be something that doesn't grow too tall.

Anyway, take care and try not to go out too much in this horrible weather!

My Grandad used to grow tomatoes, they tasted amazing, I've still never tasted a tomato so nice, even the posh ones at the supermarket that cost 3 times as much. I tried strawberries this year but they died off - I think I had them in too much of a windy corner and they didn't like it.

Think I'll have to have a chat to my Mum and Dad (very green fingered) about something a bit hardier!

can you get money out of your old colleages "skint students" pot ?

Is your OHs wages drop as he is doing less hours - are the hours in his contract?

remember i left college dont think i can still ask for that can i ? hubby's hours and wage are the same it's just he doesnt get any over time any more ..he used to work over time every weekend giving us £1000 extra a month but then he got that cut doen to the £400 or so a month we took a while but finally adjusted to this but now he doesnt get any over time at all so although we did absorb the first £600 loss i dont know if we can go much lower...we do have cable but that is the only luxury so even if we got rid of it it wouldn't make much of a diff ..i'm using star drops not chucking food away any more (that took a while for the family to get used to ) we cut down diesel as much as we could..dont even have chinese (unless it's home made) and hubby is trying really hard to deal with his drink problem (has only drank 3 times this year which for him is great ) ...i cant get any more over time in my main job as we have new starts so i cant even up my money that way ..my second job doesnt do overtime so that's not an option either....i'm doing the matched betting but you cant really take the money out (i'm gonna try and do this for a) holiday to cyprus for spending money and b) xmas) sorry to go on and on lynz think i'm just feeling overwhelmed today and finding problems i will get there i have no choice
