There's stuff you don't understand that you really ought to understand. I know this for a fact, because there are things I know I should understand that I don't.

We seem to have got ourselves in a state where people now define a shakey understanding of anything as the full, definative picture. People are pandered to so much, that more and more of us beligerently refuse to accept we may have got the wrong end of the stick. Or that there's anything wrong with our actions.
  • Sadly, I think most of those people are the ones who come home to complain on this site. I only read this section to get a laugh about how pathetic people are.

If there is one thing you learn working in a customer service based environment, it's that a large proportion of the British public are complete and utter morons.

And presumably, these customer service based environments are made up of some of these morons! There aren't two groups of people in this country; one group of customers and one group of people who serve customers. We're all customers of something or other, and some of us, as well as being customers happen to work in customer services.

This thread is interesting in that its source of frustration is the customer, rather than the customer services agent as is normally the case. But all of us are customers! The fact remains that, regardless of what your job is, some people are just rude and unpleasant to those around them. It seems particularly frustrating when these rude and unpleasant people work in customer services, because that's in direct opposition to what the job's about. This expectation isn't confined to customer services of course; if you think about it most jobs have customers of some sort, because most jobs are providing some sort of service.

Empathy is the key and we should all try to be courteous and friendly, regardless of what we do or what the circumstances are. It's just that some are better at it than others...

I think this thread is just adding balance, there seems to be a stranegly high proportion of moans about customer service that are not measured or reasonable.
