Morning, Its obvious i've confused some. So i'll elaborate.
Before crossing, the pedastrian lights were green, just i was about to reach the other end, the lights changed, BUT all the other drivers were waiting for me to pass, as any driver knows to do.
But she just drove into me. Knocking me off my bike & totally destroying my front wheels, suspension & brakes.
I also forgot to mention the bike was only 4 months old at the time, no faults or issues.
From the get go, all i've wanted is the money for a new one. I'm not after compensation for my troubles, just a new bike. I'll try her insurance first, if that doesnt work, then i'm going after her personally, but one things sure, i'm not letting it go.
Now you know.
Thanks for the advice people. God bless.:cool:0 -
I think the people on here want to know If you were riding the bike on a pedestrian crossing where you should not have been as it had a bearing on if a claim should made.
Do not shoot me I have just read all the posts and that is how it reads to me.Google gives you answers use it.........0 -
He clearly states that he was cycling the bike on the crossing at the time he was hit. This may be the reason the police aren't interested because you are meant to dismount and push it across. I can't see her insurance company being particularly interested but certainly worth a try.0

Depend if it was a just a pedestrian crossing or pedestrian and cyclist they do exist. Even if the cyclist should have been dismounted doesn't justify the behaviour of the driver. Allthough it may have an effect on any claim.0 -
Let's get all this back into perspective....
This poor bloke's bike is wrecked because of the driver's negligence.
You would all have different attitudes if it had been a lady pushing a pram on the crossing.
I would approach the insurance people direct and if that get's you nowhere, approach a specialist law firm.
By the way.... it's a good job the police gave you all the driver's details, but amazed they were allowed to under data protection!
Good luck....0 -

This. Took us a year to track down the driver who hit my GFs car.
Top tip if you want to avoid the police handing over your details after you drive into the back of someone, simply walk up and punch your victim in the face, once there is an assault involved the police can't give out your details to the victim.0
