I always thought that if I won the lottery I would give up work, but now I am not so sure - how weird is that?!?

We were talking about that at the weekend. I definitely would because I don't like this job but I would still want to do something work-wise, even if it was voluntary. Depends how much the winnings were of course! One of my friends wouldn't, because she loves her job.

    Morning Guys and Gals :)

Today I am at work and the stupid internet has only just started to work. So in a desperate bid to finally get my bum in gear and get back to my target weight before wednesday (fat chance, who am I trying to kid lol) I have been walking around the shop...4,000 steps so far! Think Ive lost the plot!

Not much else happening today, need to take B into the opticians this afternoon as she has been given another prescription for using the computer/playing piano so we need to go and choose glasses. Might take her to the play park too as its lovely and mild here today.

Well done for standing up Maz :)
Snags hope you feel better soon

I definitely wouldn't give up work if I won the lottery, most of the time I love my job, and I get to wear nice clothes and pretend to be a grown up 3 times a week.

Plus I worked bloody hard to get my job, and I'd feel like it was a waste if I gave it up.

Would be lovely to be able to afford not to work though, so that there was an element of choice about it.

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.

I loved my job,but the cost of childcare was just insane, so I took voluntary redundancy,in 1998.I would like to return to work, but it would have to be something I really enjoyed, as it wouldn't be for the pay.Often considered volunteering at local homeless shelter, but I think I would probably get too involved...and OH says if I'm going to work, I'd better get paid for it.

if i won the lottery i would SO give up work.... there are oodles of things to do that are far more fun than working... gym, swim, pampering,shopping.... honestly if money were no object, why would you carry on doing an everyday job....?

Fairy nuff some voluntary work, charidee work or whatever.

Also you're kinda denying someone who is looking for work and needs the money the chance of doing what you do.... (not sure i actually buy that one myself, but just chucking it in there)

If i had a "rich enough so i didnt need to work" husband then i might have a wee tea shop or something... except obviously i cant cook much, or bake, so it might not really work well for me!
I'm just a seething mass of contradictions....

    Morning Everyone,

Well it's been rubbish today and only 11.00.

A DD I cancelled has come out taking us well over the overdraft limit:mad:

I have also had a letter from school saying my DS attendance has deteriorated and they want me to attend a meeting. I am reall cross!! He had swine flu and it took several weeks to recover and I kept the school informed all the time and since recovery he has been in no problems, also never any problems with attendance before:mad::mad::mad:

I think I need to go and make a herbal tea and calm down before I phone!

Well the day can only get better!!
