mrtom is right - you can expidite orders - it's not cheap so is reserved for "emergencies" or "complete balls ups" :) The cost is because it's not TTs engineer it's OR and it's THEM that charge for it :)
I have no experience of TTs homemover dept - only their tech support and CS... and I was so fed up with tech support not listening to me when I told them what I had done and they STILL asked me to "reboot my machine and see if that solves it..." ("No it !!!!!!! won't! I've tried 3 machines, 3 routers, I've changed all the filters, I've disconnected EVERYTHING else in the house, I have connected direct to the master socket and I have changed the network cable too! Stop telling me there isn't a problem with my !!!!!!! line and send an engineer!!") In the end I cancelled well short of my 12 months - they tried to bill me at which point I told them best of luck and I'd see them in court for breach of contract - failure to provide a contracted service and rectify the problem in a timely manner in accordance with the contract.
Never heard from them again... :)

Are TalkTalk liars?? Can't say wheter they are or not, but I know for sure they are by far the worst telecoms company out there who grew too fast in a small amount of time. They offered outstanding deals with cheap calls and free broadband but just did not have the capacity to fufill the orders they received which is why they are so unreliable. All the staff work off a script and if your problem isn't scripted.....well thats just tough.

I would rather pay the extra to BT for the reliability and the protection of when things go wrong.
Everyones opinion is the most important.....no wonder nothing is ever agreed on.

I'd agree with a lot of that but it's down to debt. CPW/TT have a lot of it and they need money obviously so can't provide the service we'd all like (but don't want to pay for).

The thing with TT is the rest of the industry have looked at them and reduced their level of service to suit ie not very good in the main.

Any business I've had with TT has been pretty good when it's UK based staff but I'm afraid their legions of South African and Indian staff are a complete disaster zone. This is the same for many companies and it's very very damaging as I'd personally avoid TT at all costs (not that they're cheap anyway now).

BT are just as bad or even worse because BT have debt too and forever look to sell tat services at high prices.

These companies' finances are really no better than Woolworths before going bankrupt I reckon. It's all bank debt, smoke and mirrors, promises and high paid executives stripping any cash they can get out. Something will have to give and for the moment it's service levels. It can and will get worse so fasten your seat belts. I'd rather O2 had kept away from this part of the market because they have great service for mobiles. I can't see that being applied very easily to landlines.

    Shop around.
