Now it will count against you as a fault accident until/unless they manage to get their outlay back. Which could take months/years.

They refused to deal with me & told me to contact my insurance.

I wasn't even in my car when it was hit & the lady left a note apologising for hitting my car after skidding in the snow/slush.

So I can't see a problem with it.

Odd that they wouldn't deal with me, I would have thought it far cheaper for them. I don't have to do a thing, everything will be taken car of & a vehicle supplied.......
    But thats gotta cost them:confused:

There is a risk (might be small) that they will argue that it wasn't 100% the other party's fault though, and if any of your insurer's costs are not recovered it will count as a fault claim for you. It's often easier/cheaper for insurers to agree to split the costs than it is for them to go all out for recovery, unfortunately. Odds are your premiums will increase for 3-5 years anyway.

Do you have pictures of where/how you were parked?

I can take one, does that count?

The (old) lady that hit me was honest enough to leave her details, I can't see her telling lies now.
But I wasn't in the car anyway? & I was parked legally, so how can I possibly be at fault.....

Pics won't count if you didn't take them at the time. So you have no proof how or where you were parked.

It's not just about fault. Has she reported it to her insurer? They are going to want to minimise their outlay. Say your insurer has approved repairs at a cost of £1000 that her insurers think should only cost £500. They aren't going to pay more than they think they have to! The lady might turn around on reflection and say that there was something wrong with your parking. Shouldn't make a difference as you weren't in it at the time (so she hit a stationary object) but it could delay things.

Just warning you that the route you've taken may not be plain sailing.

It was pitch dark when I returned to the car anyhow, plus I didn't see it till the next day (its a badly lit road).

I didn't have a choice of the route, her insurance told me to contact mine & they would deal with them.

I thought you might have asked her insurer. ;)
