I was legally (& correctly) parked.
It was the car who parked on the side of the road, parked illegally & half on the pavement & half on the road who was stupidly parked.0 -
Let us know how you get on with her insurers.0

Hi Mrs E
I am sorry about your accident.
I have been in a similar situation like yours few months ago. The other drver's insurance company called me and they aranged for an assessor to come and examine my car. Appointment was arranged and they came over and had a look at the car. Later in the day, a phone call received with a settlement figure, which was accepted. Cheques received in the post after 2 weeks. The 3rd party insurance company was TESCO. I informed my company when I receieved the cheque.
In your case, I think you should ask the other driver to pass your contact details to their own company so that they can call you to discuss how to take this forward ( when and where the assessor to examine your car and then which garage to to use to fix your car) If they dont call you after days from passing your details to them, give them a call to speed things up.
Good luckBe nice, life is too short to be anything else.0 -
i don't mean this to sound bad, and we all know how your insurance claiming threads sometimes turn into a bit of a troll fest, but you and your lot don't half have some right bad luck with other folk skidding or driving into you....work permit granted!0

Tell me about it, DH & I were actually parked when we got hit. DD had an idiot pull in front of her, but at least she was on the road - driving.
I was actually congratulating myself driving home on Friday (was dark & didn't see damage or note) that we had all got through the awful snow with no bother:rolleyes::mad:

Have you contacted their insurers yet?0

Contacted them today, they didn't want to know & said I had to phone my insurers, so I did so:D
They said they will arrange repair & car while in repair shop.
Now it will count against you as a fault accident until/unless they manage to get their outlay back. Which could take months/years.I was born too late, into a world that doesn't care
Oh I wish I was a punk rocker with flowers in my hair0
