i actually feel guilty reporting them
Don't. Really, you're doing the community a service.

I'd be horrified if I went into a shop where the staff were drinking whisky. A shop should be a proper establishment and not a place to get drunk with your mates while you're bored.

As for selling alcohol to kids, that's illegal, immoral and....something else beginning with i.

If I tell you who I work for, I'm not allowed to help you. If I don't say, then I can help you with questions and fixing products. Regardless, there's still no secret EU law.

Dont feel guilty too much alcohol is consumed by minors, they may think is adult, the shop keeper should know better though. Know woner we get problems with minors if shop keepers are selling alcohol to them
i actually feel guilty reporting them, but i would feel more guilty if i don't do anything, i can't win can i

Would Crimestoppers be a good place to report them and keep Anonymous?

Probably not - as they only have avenues of disseminating information for the crimes the Police deal with - the best ways to get the info to Trading Standards is to tell them directly....believe me...!

But also - if the staff are drinking in the post office, then they are probably committing an offence, as the post office won't be licensed for drinking on the premises (if at all).
Speak to the Licensing Department (usually in environmental health) at your local district council - they will deal with the unlicensed activity, and that could be a fine of £20k.

    Ta :)

Shops selling booze to underage kids, it's just not on.
  • My son was involved in going into shops suspected (= reported on?) of selling alcohol to under 18's and this was with trading standards.

I have spent my afternoon with two young lads testing shops, so I know it's trading standards!!!

In some areas, the Police do it too - but only for alcohol, as they have a joint responsibility for enforcement....

It does vary from area to area exactly what happens after a report - but I always reassure people who tell me that they feel like a snitch that my boyfriend (who is a police officer) has to deal with a scary number of youngsters who are drunk and incapable - and putting themselves in serious danger.
