In that case look HERE. Link now fixed.

Blimey they've dropped a place since I last looked.

BTW I'm on VM cable and have to say I've only had one drop in service in nearly 2 yrs, and that was when the local hub crashed, and a very consistent speed of 9.8Mbps.
    Move along, nothing to see.

I'd go with the cable, I've had excellent broadband service from them from day one - but adsl providers were all rubbish for us as we're so far from exchange!!

Virgin ADSL (aka National Broadband) is effectively two different products.

If Cable & Wireless LLU is available at the exchange (check at www.samknows.com) then Virgin use their network. I have been on this for the last 12 months and C&W have enough capacity to cope with demand so iplayer etc. just work exactly as intended.

If C&W LLU is available at the exchange then a number of smaller ISP's can also provide services over the same network eg. Xilo Broadband Pro, these niche ISP's will probably have better customer service than Virgin and may also be cheaper.

However if C&W LLU is not available at the exchange then Virgin use BT Wholesale to provide the service. This is the service that most people complain about and is probably best avoided. It is virtually impossible for any ISP to sustain high quality, unlimited internet via BT Wholesale due to high charges from BT.
