    HI,

Virgin is a good provider but there services go off-line at least once a month and some time even twice but its only for maybe one hour each time.

But what they do is give you a full refund for that month,

I have had virgin broadband for 7 months and i think i have only paid 4 times.
    so All is good.

    Hope it goes well.

You need to say if you will be getting the cable service or ADSL service - they are effectively two separate ISPs

And so am I when I say nobody I know has ever had any problems with it (cable service) since the week it was launched, years before it was Virgin branded.

It doesn't change the fact that the OP needs to state which service they are talking about.

Been with virgin for years, way back when it was NTL and then Telewest. Haven't had any problems whatsoever. On the very occasional times it goes down a refund is given and it's fixed promptly.

I've been with NTL/Virgin cable for 13 years, latterly on their 20Mb service. I have had very few problems connection wise. However speed issues during December, plus a change in my usage, have made me have a look at what's available elsewhere. During a weekday my speeds were great - around 19/20Mb. However after 7pm this changed - at one point down to 1.5Mb. Most evenings and weekends never saw me rise above 5Mb. A complaint got me a full month's refund. The enginner who came out passed it onto his manager and the speed improved a bit. However it really only changed the slow time till after 9pm instead of after 7pm. The engineer who came out spoke to the network guys whilst in my home. He put it on speaker phone to let me hear although he shouldn't have done. They said it was peak utilisation problems - when the engineer asked when it might be fixed they laughed!

Basically some areas ( mostly ex NTL) cannot handle the peak use of evenings and weekends and everything slows down.

My son who lives 5 minutes away always has speeds of 19/20Mb on his Virgin connection .

So basically you are paying £25pm for 10MB BB? You don't use the phone and Medium TV is basically just Freeview which you can get for nothing.

Considering you can get Be BB for £7.50pm for 8Mb plus BT line rental for £11.54 I'm not so sure it's a good price.
