Is this a good alternative to Tiscali?

If your number is still with Tiscali then it will probably say you are unsupported. Have you checked here whether your exchange is setup for BE?

thanks for that, didn't know about that website!
this is what it says for me:
Market 1
This exchange has BT Wholesale as the sole provider of broadband services
Anyway... the only ones available for me appear to be Orange and Talk Talk. I still have my line rental with BT, I never moved it to Tiscali. Seems it's just a rubbish area (Lincolnshire).....
hmm, so how about Orange.. anyone with them for broadband?0 -
Orange is looking good.
Can anyone suggest why their plan with free evening/weekend calls (line rental remains with BT) is cheaper than if you only take broadband.
Home Starter - £10.00 per month to include free calls
Home Select - £12.00 per month, no calls
no connection charge, unlimited downloads
sound good?0 -

*sigh*
'Fraid so, I see you're on a Market 1 exchange so no/v. limited LLU.
Other companies will supply via BT Wholesale, but you will always pay more because, you will be subsidising the Market 3 (i.e 3+ LLU) exchanges where the prices are much more competitive.
Just my take on the situation.Move along, nothing to see.0 -
it's looking like staying with Talk Talk is actually the best option!0

If it's so good, why do they insist on an 18 month contract?
Their telephone support is so pathetic that they advise you join an on-line support forum to get help - really helpful when you have no net access!
