Sky 'Magic Eye'...

Hi thanks so much for explaining that and taking the time.
I did try googling the answer and did get directed to the site that had a link from the one you gave me but this new line said page could not be found.
I am a woman and a senior and I do not even understand a lot of the terminology. Is the digi box the sky plus box? Sorry to be so thick.
thanks again

You could try googling your question?
Heres a link to a site that has information about magic eyes not working:

Have you ever looked at the 'hidden' Installer Menu on your Sky Box?
Check that the RF Outlet Power Supply is still set to on (it may have powered off?).
Details of how to access the Installer Menu are in the link above.[/QUOTE]0 -
I think the friend who first bought us the eye bought another thing that cost us about 30 quid and when he tried to install it he said it sometimes doesn't work. It was a thing that did not need these ridiculous wires running down the stairs and it also meant I could watch something different upstairs. When I asked him for the receipt to take it back then (being a good msler) he couldn't find it so it is kicking around here somewhere. If only I knew how to do it. Would an electrician know how to do it or would it have to be a sky technician do you think?
thanks again

Yikes i just did a google check using different terminology nord suggested. I came across a very helpful site but yikes and yikes again. Someone there did what I did and looked for magic eye in the forum and then asked a question there. I am very sorry to the first poster on this thread as someone there said it is rude to hijack another poster's questions. I apologise if I have offended but I am not very good at posting and always just post in another thread not because I am rude but I do not know really how to post a new thread myself and when I have done it in the past it has taken me hours of trial and error and this all seemed so simple.

Anyway this is the link to the other site with some really helpful info I hope this helps someone and I hope it was ok to cut and paste this.

hi, I have gone into services on the remote control and the secret installer menu won't come up. using sky telephone numbers, parental control but no menu like the secret installer and when i press the 2 codes 401 or 001 it just comes up with a sky channel to pick. when I go into services I see sky guide at the far top left but the remote will not let me access it only the other 4 along the top. I thought I was going to fix it for my disabled son who has great difficulty going up and down the stairs but to no avail. any help out there would be greatly appreciated.
thanks taffy0 -
Press 4 then 0 then 1 then select without looking at your TV Screen, not sure why, but it always seems to work OK doing it like that.0

Make sure you are in the "services" menu to start with
Then hit 401 select (enter) - don't pause in between
Can think of no logical reason why it doesn't workWe all evolve - get on with it0 -
Am in the services menu, but when I press 401 it does change to another menu but not to the installers menu and does not show RF outlet at all on there and won't go into the sky guide menu where those options are.

I have tried these Infra Red Thingewings and didnt like them at all. The pictures quality was very poor and I couldnt connect the remote, as one of the System picked up other signal from somewhere and it changed the channel without me pressing the button.
Using the magic eye since. Works a treat. Great pictures and no problems what so ever.0 -
I have tried the Video Senders & they still don't give the quality of picture/sound that a wired solution does.
I use magic eyes & a splitter amplifier to watch Sky & Freeview on 4 different TV's around the house from One Dish, One Sky Box & One Digital Ariel.0
