Debt diary day 21
Day 21 of our debt free journey and coincidentaly £21 paid of the debts today - not a lot but it all adds up:T
That means that I have paid a total of £2000 off our debts since our LBM three weeks ago. WOW - I would never have dreamed that was possible. Normally we are scratching around at the end of the month for money - not this month - we got to the payday with no problem and have paid more than minimum off the debts. What an amazing feeling - I really hope this enthusiasm doesn't wane:)
Not much else to report - except still haven't sorted out the ebay listings:(:oNR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000

Oh - meant to say I chased up the 0% balance transfer request today - they hadn't done it and so sorted it out for me over the phone. They said it will take approximately 6 days for it to appear on the other CC account. Hi Planning,
WOW....Well done you...:T:T:T:T...£2000 off in 2 weeks certainly is something to be proud of.!!! Its a great feeling isn't it, to see the debt come down. I used to think that it was only me who got excited when a debt payment came out.!! I now can't wait to get to the 1st of the month to get a new figure on the outstanding debt.
OMG I am so sad.!! (but not alone obviously) !:o
We have been doing this for 2 years, and the enthusiasm is still there, so I am sure it will be with you too.
Right, I'm off to have a coffee and check online banking for the 2nd time today.....Perhaps I need therapy.:shhh:

Elsie - mine is tea, white no sugar;)
I wish it were two weeks - but it's three;) Still a great achievement methinks:T
You are not at all sad for checking the online banking - I seem to do that several times a day, along with my snowball and excel spreadsheet:rotfl: I thought I was cured yesterday because I didn't log in to my snowball for at least 24 hours - it was just a blip and I have logged in at least four times today:rotfl:NR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000

Debt Diary day 22
Just £10 off the debt total today - still, with my positive head on, it's £10 off and not £10 on (which before DFW days it would definitely have been:eek:).
I'm being good on my diet - but the weight isn't shifting this week:( which is quite depressing. Will keep plodding on though and I do know it will eventually start to shift.
I've made myself up a new spreadsheet for tracking our spend/budget and so far I am over the moon with it - but will have to see how it goes over the next couple of months.
I signed up to Bingo Britain yesterday to get the £5 per day free play for the next month (found the info elsewhere on MSE). I deposited £10 and have won that back already (but had to deposit another £10 before I could withdraw £20 - confusing or what:rotfl:). Still I do now have my deposit back and therefore the rest of the month is going to be free play and maybe I will get lucky and win something. I won't use the site for anything but free play though cos the money is more important going off the debts:D
Ok - off to do the ironing (not much to do but I hate it building up).
Have a good debt busting day everyone:beer:NR [STRIKE]£5542[/STRIKE]£2771 BC [STRIKE]£7987[/STRIKE]£7700 BC [STRIKE]£3000[/STRIKE]£5100 Cat1 Pd Cat2 Pd Ulstr [STRIKE]£3400[/STRIKE]£3070 TSB [STRIKE]£4851[/STRIKE]£4400 MBNA [STRIKE]£7700[/STRIKE]£3887 NWst [STRIKE]£950[/STRIKE] £700 Hfx [STRIKE]£10097[/STRIKE]£10050 Asda [STRIKE]£398[/STRIKE] £315 HFX1 Pd Hfx2 [STRIKE]£3133[/STRIKE] £3000

Well done PA, good to hear you sounding positive and £10 is £10:T
Just wanted to ask: You and elsie were talking about checking regularly on your internet accounts. I understand the obsession:) but are debits/credits made throughout the day or just 'overnight'. I thought that direct debits/SOs went out just once a day but perhaps if you make a transfer or pay in at a counter they go in instantly. Is that right?
Enjoy the ironing!0 -

SO's definitely go out once a day - but DDs, I guess it is when the companies call for them (not sure really), but when I logged on this morning I was expecting a DD to have gone out and it hadn't (9am) - just logged on and checked again and it has now cleared through my account. I think paying in at bank counter they do go in instantly (at least they do with Halifax bank).
To be honest, it doesn't matter if the numbers change or not - I am just obsessed with checking things now (after years of avoiding even looking at our finances:o)

Hi PA just read your diary, wow what an amazing start youv'e done really well. Im around the same age (Ithink) with 3 children all still at school and want to be rid of the debt before Im 50. We'll still have the mortgage but hopefully will be in a position to overpay. Although if DH has his way we'll have sold the house and be building our own, so may have to rent for a while, but if we make enough money hopefully we'll need a v small mortgage so its all positive.
I'll pop back and see you soon. Well done on the obsessive debtbusting, were all the same;)Visa £[STRIKE]5063 [/STRIKE]now 0. Loan 1 €[STRIKE]4885[/STRIKE] now 0. Loan 2 €29,590 now €0 as of 22/02/2016 Mgage €55000/ €23,639 at 01/02/18
