I take it you never actually just rang the number then?
It's Next Directory0 -
Thanks!!
I have had my fair share of thieves trying to hack into stuff over the year and I'm very reluctant to call back any silent calls. I'm sceptical of any call that calls over and over again silently.0 -
this is weird,
the first number says its next directory - 'we have called you, no need to call us back.'
second number says its vodafone - similar message. however just spoken to vodafone who say that they haven't tried to call me at all.
I suspect this IS A SCAM. These numbers would get charged on a mobile.0 -
If you dont want to phone back the number on your mobile try phoning it from a phonebox (if you can find one).0

Used to get loads of these silent calls. Think there is something you can register on that stops them similar to the mailing preference service that stops junk mail. Can't remember what its called but am sure someone on here will know.

I used to get silent phone calls until I registered with the TPS and it all stopped. I also registered with the mail version and stopped getting junk mail as well.
Well worth the small effort involved.Join the Sarcasm Appreciation Society.

Sadly this doesn't stop foreign companies (outside the realm of enforcement) and companies using "The Occupier" (an exemption) from continuing to fire away, but I agree that it does make a sizeable improvement.
The only junk call I've got of late was from America and on my answering phone (how did it know to wait for the bleep!!), but it was so hilariously garbled it made me laugh more than scowl :rotfl:
You can also now go on to the mail version (MPS) and stop junk mail for previous occupants at your address which made even more difference to my junk mail pile as I've been much more careful about giving my address away than they seemingly wereI would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.

Got one of them a while back from HSBC (appears to be kosher - checked the number on Google). If I don't need to call you back why did you bally well ring me in the first place, especially as I told you not to market further financial wares to me!!I would rather be exposed to the inconveniences attending too much liberty than to those attending too small a degree of it.
