DH had about 4 of those, all went wrong. Had to keep returning them. Wouldn't touch them with a barge pole.

He doesn't abuse phones, never had problems before & changed to a different Nokia & all ok now.

I'm sure I saw an ad in the papers yesterday or a couple of days ago with the iphone for just under £160 in Currys.
But I've just looked on their website & I can't find it.

Can't believe that no one has mentioned the HTC Hero. OP, check this phone out. Infact, just search for Android - there's a bit of a selection of them now.

I was gonna mention HTC :p

My hubby has HTC Hero which - whilst not 'new' in terms of the phone market is still a nifty number, not too large and reasonably solid
Personally I'm still trying to get to grips with my Omnia II
It rang for the first time today (ported number) I nearly had !!!!!!! kittens cause I couldn't work out how to answer it quick enough ! :rotfl:
    I'm such a Blonde!

If your stuck for what phones you want I used omio .com - it offers a way of comparing 3 or 4 phones together and you can narrow down what type of phone you want too. (Type of screen, extras etc)
Find a few review sites as they're always handy to lurk about on - I personally used Techradar but aware there are lots of others.
  • I have an HTC Hero and absolutely love it - best phone I have ever owned! I'm not particularly tech-savvy and I'm sure I am not using it to its full potential, but it is quite intuitive and once you have the basics figured out, which doesn't take too long, then you're all set. :)

have never tried the HTC but I've got a Tocco Lite and really like it. At first I was dissapointed with the touch screen as its no where near as responsive as the iphone (I think thats because the screen responds to pressure as opposed to heat) but it works great when texting and its jnot something you're really going to be playing games on.

NB Has anyone tried the "fake call" feature on the phone its genius - got me out of some horrible social situations!

When my DD was a bit younger we bought her the D&G gold phone. She was so happy with it, she was pretending to talk on it while in the supermarket, so some girls she knew from college could see it:rotfl:

I rang her phone from my pocket:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
