100 wedding favours for less than £50 - any ideas?

Options
Hello

I trying to think of ideas for cheap wedding favours (less than 50p each).

So far I've thought of filling small organza bags with sweets or chocolates.

Any ideas??

Thanks, Jen

  • Hiya - i am making gingerbread leaves (autumn wedding) and them putting them in cellophane bags tied with colour co-ordinating ribbon ...shouldn't cost must at all as the bags will be about £4 off Ebay for 100 and the ingredients won't be too much. Oh and a leaf shaped cutter for £2

Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?
  • Thanks, that's a great idea! I love baking and its much more personal, I might even put a little slip of paper in saying 'Homemade by Jen'

Or maybe little tags which you could make....like luggage tags saying "homemade by..."....? That'd look sweet!http://www.newenglandstamper.com/photos/uncategorized/2007/11/06/large_gift_bags.jpg Kind of like the one on the right (but not really LOL!)

What shape of cookie would you go for?? Have a look on google images for inspiration - there are some gorgeous styles out there!

  • Yes, tags would be better. I've got loads of coloured card left over from my invitations so could use that. So far I've been looking at hearts, also thought of a trio of a heart, flower and butterfly. I think ginger bread would be good as it's less likely to brake.

    Thanks again!

The flower thingy?? I guess just biscuits which you put the sticks into when you bake them (not sure on that though..you'd have to make sure the stick wouldnt burn...), then iced with royal icing cut out to shape and piping decoration/royal icing imprinted with pattern....then stuck into florists oasis in a pot and oasis covered with moss.....

hmm i reckon the only hard bit would be the butterflies...you can go to cake decorating shops and buy like pattern printing things which just imprint the decoration onto the icing and you would literally just use a smaller cutter to cut out the royal icing....or just draw around your cookie cutter and then photocopy picture slightly smaller then cut out and use as template (whoo i am so blue peter presenter material lol!)

For the butterflies you could cheat - bet u can buy tiny icing butterflies! then just stick them onto the cookie with a tiny blob of piped icing!

OR use these to cut out the butterfly out of flowerpaste (different type of icing, will dry very hard) ... http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/PME-SUGARCRAFT---Butterfly-Plunger-Cutter---Set-of-3_W0QQitemZ200412875074QQcmdZViewItem?rvr_id=&rvr_id=&cguid=d49f88c11240a0aad26748f7fed54a65 then you basically put the butterfly to dry over something a bit curved so the wings will dry upwards if that makes sense, ie they wont be "flat"
