is it worth doing one of those early tests?or will it be too early? I'm not even sure when my period is due, as I don't take much notice as my contraception has always been so reliable. It must be this weekend though, I'm estimating around sunday.
Definitely worth doing if you are due in a few days time. They can pick up on the pregnancy hormones, for most women, about 5-7 days before I think.

I used to really crave things, say pancakes with DD1, go out of my way to make them and then either think 'ugh' when they were done, or throw them up straight after eating them.

It sounds to me as though you are, and as though you know it too (hugs)

I've had most of those symptoms but think they are just part of my PMT or something as my period always comes straight after.

Get a test done hun, to be on the safe side.

When I was pregnant, very early on I just knew it even before I had done a test! Doubt if everyone gets this feeling though.

A couple of months ago I got a really bad metallic taste in my mouth and it lasted a few weeks I also completely went off tea and coffee. Everyone at work was sure I was pregnant but I wasn't, don't know what caused it though so it may just be a false alarm.

  • Check the HCG levels a test picks up the lower the HCG it will pick up the more sensitive the test is so will pick up early pregnancy

the cheaper tests such as from poundland test for high HCG levels in comparison to a clear blue test which is very low.

Thanks for all your responses, I did a pregnancy test this morning and it was negative. I am feeling relieved, but hope my period starts soon, just to be completely reassured.

Have you seen the accuracy rates of the test before your period is due? For Clearblue it seems that accuracy rate is:
53% - 5 days before your period is due
    74% - 4 days
    84% - 3 days
    87% - 2 days

What I am trying to say, until your period arrives you cannot be sure.

    Hi Tanzie

I'm TTC at the moment and have had these symptoms convinced that 'this would be the month' only for my period to arrive and I found that it was just PMT and an overactive imagination!

IF you are pregnant your hcg levels approximately double every 48 hours so take another test in 2 days if your period hasn't arrived.

I think the most sensitive tests pick up around 20mIU/ml so look out for one of tehse if you're keen to know soon.

Good luck whatever the outcome x

SNAP:rotfl::rotfl:I'm currently in the 2ww, such a nightmare! You should come join us on TTC thread:D

OP it could be either AF sypmtoms or pg symptoms, as previous poster has said try and find the lowest miu test you can as this will give you a more accurate result, however the most accurate you can get is AFTER af. Hope you get the result you want x

Personally I never liked the blue line jobbies - I like seing it written down so there is no mistaking it... Bought a double pack of the clear blue digital (not the "how pregnant you are" kind) and when it bleeped up and stated "PREGNANT" there was no doubt in my mind... didn't stop me doing the second one though :rotfl:
If you don't want to be guessing if the line is blue then buy the digital ones... :) if negative then do another in a couple of days time :)
