How can I get rid of my build up of rubbish bags?

It's absolutely bonkers having that many black bin liners. These days my wife and I recycle in green bin bags (glass, paper, plastics, cardboard etc etc), in a food caddy (all food inc bones, egg shells etc) in our green bins outside (garden waste and further cardboard) and lastly black bins of which we maybe have 1 a week compared to three or the green bins.
What district are you in?0 -
I have recently moved to fareham council - we have moved to a bigger family house but now have smaller bins. My recycle bin is collected one week and then general waste. I do recycle everything that I can and recycle glass to take to the bottle bank. I now have 15 bags at outside in my garden. Its horrid.
I will try calling the council.
Thank You:heart2:Mum to my little Daisy 3 and Archie 1.:heart2:0 -
try companies like
Junkanddisorderly.com
Weclearjunk.co.uk
Junk2clear.co.uk
youll have to pay through the nose for it though.
If I were you Id move to cloth nappies or organic ones that can be composted:beer: Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -
alison, ask if you can have a second waste bin as you have a large family, and encourage everyone to recycle. If you have little nippers, could a star chart for recycling help?** Total debt: £6950.82 ± May NSDs 1/10 **** Fat Bum Shrinking: -7/56lbs **
**SPC 2012 #1498 -£152 and 1499 ***
I do it all because I'm scared.

Are you minimising your items before you put them in the bag? e.g. squashing cans, bottles, ripping up large paper/cardboard items. Anything that is squashed/torn takes up far less space.0

i was complaining about this problem with the neighbour the other day, we have a recycables, non recycables and the garden waste. but i regulary fill these up, both recycables and non and end up having leftovers (council wont take anymore) but we are a family of five and next door is only two. Same council tax bill but i wouldnt mind paying extra for a larger wheelie bins. nightmare especially after christmas.Listen to what people say, but watch what people what people do!!0

Ask your council for a bigger bin ours does if you got teh smaller wheelie bin and have a large family
We managed okay with a large bin for 4 of us0 -
My council will give you as many recycling bins(well box) as you feel you need it saves them on the landfill cost so i thought they'd postivly encourage recycleing by allowing people to put out as much as they like.Have you checked with your council that they wont give you any more recycling.?0

With recycling paper, cardboard, plastics, glass and tins, we usually have hardly any rubbish left to put in our bin. It would take us 4 weeks to fill the bin, but then there are only 2 of us.0

Ring the council ours collect it for a small fee £20 or soSave saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives.:j0
