Mercers - grrrrrrr

Despite us telling them and Barclays that we are BR, and they have said they have looked at the entry on the IS site, they still continue to chase us.

The person I spoke to today actually said that the entry on the site isn't enough and they need to see the copy of the order, I pointed out that you don't get on the site unless you are BR, but he says that isn't enough - idiot.

The thing that I am finding most upsetting about it is that the envelopes say quite clearly on the back Mercers Debt Collectors, and our postie is one of our eldest son's friends Dad's. :( So he gets to see these letters :(

They are now the only ones bothering us, I have drafted a cracking letter for hubby to sign when he gets home, and I will put a copy of the BR order in, I don't want to do it but feel I have to, as I really don't want any more of these letters arriving, it is embarrassing.

Why are they such a bunch of ......... insert whatever swear word you feel appropriate!! :D

Rant over!

Hi IAM, sorry to hear you are still being hassled, they are a right pain are they not? We actually had another DCA call at the house on Saturday morning, this was after I had sent a letter with my BO and and an email with my BO attached. I told him we were BR and he just said OK and off he went. I have since sent another email where I went on a serious rant, nothing abusive or offensive and hopefully they have now got the message! but only time will tell. Don`t let them get to you, there is nothing they can do to us now..

It's a well known tactic of DCAs to try to cause embarrassment etc by turning up at your neighbours after 'accidentally' getting the wrong house and similar tricks.

The one that really pee'd me off though was AFTER we had been declared bankrupt and all our mail from the ORs office arrived with a great big 'Insolvency Service' stamp on the front of the envelope!!

Yeah, thanks for that OR
When you're going through hell, keep going! You will get to the other side eventually.

They'll keep doing this until they hear from the OR. In my case this was about a month and a half after BR. You can try sending a copy of the BR order and see if they stop. A pain isn't it? Hang in there and it'll all get better.

(...until file clean-up time when you'll have to deal with them again )

They're right b*stards though. My whole experience with Barclays & MBNA (who sold on my debt post BR I just found out) has left me never wanting to do business with them ever again.

  • Thanks all, feel better for my rant!

Trom, that did cross my mind actually, after all this is over, or over as much as it ever can be, I will most certainly not ever have ever dealings with Barclays again, they have been the worst of the bunch.

So today we have a letter from resolvecall - who have been instructed by Mercers - what is wrong with these people?????

I am so angry I am shaking, if I lived closer I would go to their office I truly would, they know we are BR, I know that our OR has written to everyone as we are not being chased by anyone else, even egg have stopped the account as at the BR date.

It says we may get a doorstep collection agent, well you know what, I hope we do, I will invite them in, give them a cup of tea, and then show them all the BR papers and ask them to give me something in writing to say that they will not pursue us any more.

I am sick sick sick of them... these people are what gives DCA's a bad name.

Rant over, dh will be home in a bit he is off today due to his shifts, so I will get him to call them and tell them to stop, now.

Where are the really good letters which have been done before?

    thanks!

We have just received another letter from Albion on behalf of Bank of Scotland, this is despite us telling them on numerous occasions we are BR. To be honest I just throw them in the bin now, if they want to call they can, it is their time and money they are wasting. Anyone who does now call does not see the "nice" side of me, I am fed up of trying to reason with these leeches. I know it is not easy but try not to let them wind you up, they are not worth it.
