really....it's not hard to understand :T
  • Oh Ellidee, I know how you helpless you must feel...is there no hope? My BF (if you'd seen her in October, you wouldn't have given her till Xmas) was in a dreadful state-her morphine levels were all over the place, she was either in constant pain,or passed out from too much morphine.I went with her to a pain management clinic at local hospice, and they sorted her out-so much so she is hoping to return to work next week! She is still terminal, but now they have the levels sorted. Can you Skype her maybe,if she's not up to visitors? Webcam?Hugs-it's a very cruel disease..

i agree it is a very cruel disease and its not nice watching anyone going through it

my brother in law is going through treatment at the moment, but he's young and hopefully fit enough to get through it :)

SRM I was wondering how your BF was. I'm really pleased she's feeling better, going back to work? That is an amazing turn around. I can't tell you how many times I've hoped for a miracle for your friend, funny really, it's someone I'll probably never know, but each day she enjoys her life she sticks two fingers up to the cruel b*stard disease which stole my mum and I love her for that.

Unless I say otherwise 'you' means the general you not you specifically.

Thanks Toto-her long term prognosis is still carp, but the amazing turnaround has come (I think) from her finally ageeing to chemotherapy-she was having none before, and her Onc finally said in Oct/Nov if she didn't take it, he couldn't guarantee she'd see Xmas. I think that shocked her into it.Now her pain is controlled she's much more positive, and like I say, hoping to go back to work. She has gained half a stone over the last weeks,as she's actually eating again, and has another Onc appt tomorrow, so we'll see what they say then...thanks again Toto..xxx
Oh, and she def sticks two fingers up to it Toto! She's just organised a girls weekend away for 10 of us, in March, and she's organising horse riding in the forest for us all too....and was in the pub with us all last night, even though she doesn't drink..

:grouphug: for Eli - life's so ruddy unfair sometimes. Hope they can get her levels sorted and make her comfortable.

A lovely friend of mine offered to take DH and I out this morning (very limited as to where I can take him on public transport) so managed to have a wander round some different shops, got DH a couple of pairs of new tracksuit bottoms (he's put on 2 stone since he's been less mobile so nothing's fitting) and managed to get DD1 some new hockey socks (she lost the last pair)....need to rejig the budget now to cover those costs. Forgot to leave the heating on so came back to a very, very cold house
