It helps if you don't drink and smoke, I don't do either.
You can get child support with absent parent not knowing your addy.
You can earn 20 without it affecting you benefits, that's an extra 40 per week.Blackpool_Saver is female, and does not live in Blackpool0 -

So how exactly should the benefits system work then??
Instead of the current system where theres a set rate for everyone, increasing accordingly on the number of dependents,
should some people have to live on just £50 per week, others have to live on only £64 per week,
the people with a dependent in the household should get £100 per week benefits,
but then the people who struggle to budget that £100 for their bills, well they should get given some free extra money from the council each week to reward their inability and incompetence to do and live on what everyone else is forced to..?? :rotfl::rolleyes:0 -

Please can this be kept on topic!
According to the law of of England a person is legally able to start consenting to sex at 16,
as well as able to live alone and to work.
Therefore they are no longer considered to be a ''child'' after 16, as they are legally adults as can consent to sex.0 -

God you're an idiot
In the 'eyes of the law' a child is up to the age of 18
In you're using the old 'you can have sex at 16 therefore you're an adult' row then what about a 16 year old with say a learning disabilty who isn't able to give informed consent?
I guess that makes them a child still eh but all the other 16 year olds are adults :rolleyes:Future Mrs Gerard Butler

You are incorrect. In England and Wales, young adults are considered to be minors until they are 18. That's why they can't get married or join the forces from age 16-18 unless they have parental consent.
The fact they can have sex is irrelevant as that is the age of consent and not the age that child protection laws would cover them to.
In Scotland (hence why so many young couples elope to Gretna Green) you are considered an adult at 160 -
Hi OP, just wondering whether your child could get a paper round or something to chip in a little bit. I know I was working from age 14 and carried on through college to save my mum paying out for bus fare.0
