Hi Button, well done on the grocery savings:j:j, its amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. That was an interesting article about aldi and lidl. We have a lidl close to us but i dont find their products any cheaper than tesco value, although there are a few things in it that are good, like a big tray of lasagne for £2 something

Hi everyone,
Haven't been on the forums for a week or so now...........so time for an update!
WABL, thanks for your reply! I will pop on and read your diary soon!
Well, not an awful lot to report! It's a bit of a long drawn out process this MF malarky! Doing pretty well on the food shopping side of things....had our first take away of the year tonight though! A kebab but it wasn't very good so not even worth the tenner for two!
I did 3 and a half hours overtime at work this week....so that's extra pennies!
I haven't spent a penny on any clothes, makeup, misc shopping ect! My only purchases on our credit card was food and the laptop DH bought on our credit card (which I must admit was a good buy.....I'm on it just now!;)). I do however, really think twice when buying anything these days!
I'm looking for a home for our ISA's soon.....the 3.5% one on MSE home page sounds a good one....but Halifax is launching a new one in the next few days so will wait and see what they have to offer!
I redesignated another of my accounts to a Halifax Reward current account the other day....I now have 3 Reward accounts each paying a fiver....one each for my and DH and one joint. A nice £15 per month for nothing!
Still shopping in Lidl and Farmfoods.....DH refuses to go into Farmfoods.....he sent our son in the other day!! OMG....what's that all about??!! Supermarket Snob!!:rotfl::rotfl: £1.50 for 2 big cartons of milk and £1 for 2 x Hovis loafs!! You can't argue with that!!
Pay day on Friday.....YIPEE!! A nice short month! I won't be able to save anything this month however as DH has started a company pension which is backdated for 6 months, so he has backdated contributions to make (plus £450 for the laptop - I ALWAYS clear the credit card every month!!).
I have increased our childrens trust fund direct debits to £75 per month. It's the stakeholder one......anyone have any opinions on CTF's?? Would be good to hear!
Thanks for reading my fellow MF wannabees!
Lots of love
