I took delivery of a new passat on 5th Jan that had been sitting cosily in the dealers showroom all through december.

Nurse it like a baby the whole way home in the snow, then drove it the minimum possible at ultra safe speeds.

When 4 days old and 100 miles on it, my next door neighbours daughter reversed her dads works van into the side of it and cost £950 of damage..
    Ouch

We were due to pick up our new 2010 Yaris TR tomorrow and it was delayed due to the weather.... however it has now arrived and we're getting it Saturday. We're a bit apprehensive about taking it out in the snow but we'll see how it goes.

Don't worry, the snow will all be gone by Saturday.

    I've been Money Tipped!
Speaking of new car delays - a couple of years ago I ordered a new Micra and on the day I was due to pick it up the dealer called me to say that during the pre-delivery inspection they had noticed that the car only had 3 doors instead of 5  and would that be OK for me if they gave me a £500 discount as compensation :rotfl:. Apparently (as the story went) the salesman had ordered the wrong model.

Needless to say, I went elsewhere.

Don't worry...they are good in the snow, stock tyres on them are ace according to my old man, who had the same worries, but says its very well planted in the snow despite the light steering, no hairy moments, despite shocking weather.
Says way better than the 2 litre 99 primera it replaced.
Oh and they are a doddle to park...I'm always amazed at how small a space I can fit it into when I borrow it...I just hate how useless the AM radio is, (it uses one of those stupid windscreen antennas, instead of a whip antenna bonded to the car body)

I had a new car delivered last Tuesday, the day the snow hit the south of the country. I only drove it Tuesday lunchtime, and in the evening to go shopping. Since then, it's sat on my drive, undriven. If there is a decent thaw this weekend, I might take it out for a drive on Sunday afternoon.
