i think sometimes, especially kids, are a bit like wild animals (although they behave worse, kids not the animals) they don't know how to handle it so lets be hostile to be on the safe side. my children would no sooner do that than fly to the moon, so i guess its an attitude that has been learnt from somewhere. for all the bad though theres 2 good ones, it just seems some days you only find the bad.
its sad that they can give us pills and potions but some things can only be learnt. and i for one as a member of the human race feel so sorry in saying its something you will come up against again and again.
Its the people who spit that have the problem, its just terrible. Trouble is kids learn from their parents. If my kids see someone with an obvious disability they do sometimes ask what is wrong and I explain then they move on. My DD tells people I have a wonky brain lol.
I told someone what was wrong with me recently, it was a hard thing to do and she said Your not contagious are you  She hasn't spoken to me since and her kids are no longer allowed round to play.
Guess I had better get used to it.Sealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0 -

What a dreadful thing to say to you. perhaps we should all be given a bell with our DLA and shout unclean as we go around. Its funny you sure do learn who your friends are.0 -

Even within this country different people live very different lives and people can find it hard to imagine the situations and problems of others.
For example, you post above where you have "no doubt" that everyone on here has a TV and mobile phone, shows that you simply can't conceive that some people don't have these things that you seem to consider essentials (I don't have either).

I don't have a mobile phone either but these are things that appear to be almost universally acquired.
Perhaps you should refer more to why that was posted. It was in the context of being able to reduce expenditure to get this £5 a week. Many people see luxuries such as mobile phones as essentials.0 -

If people are ignorant enough to stare or tutt, let them, you will probably never see them again.
This has always gone on. I was four eyes throughout my childhood. My brothers were not only 4 eyes but also teased because of their red hair.
Fact of life, get used to it. Always the same with anyone who is different from the norm for whatever reason.0 -

I understand that some things are classed as a luxury, but i think its unfair to sight a mobile phone. its my life line when i'm out on my own, as i am sure many on here will agree0 -

So come on how are you going to change it? How are you going to stop your children calling others names? Whether you believe it or not your children no doubt do it.
My children were teased because we didn't have a car, or a colour TV. Doesn't take much0 -

how dare you, you bitter old nasty piece of work, my children would NEVER do that, they have been brought up to show respect others less fortunate than themselves. my son won an award at his school for being a good young citizen. its sad your own parents did bring you up in the same manner0 -

You really are a nasty old woman aren't you, I really hope you don't have kids. My children are inquiuisitive about disability but never laugh or call people names. As I said before don't judge everyone by your own standards.
Why should we have to get used to it, wht can't the people who are abusive get used to it.picassopete wrote: »how dare you, you bitter old nasty piece of work, my children would NEVER do that, they have been brought up to show respect others less fortunate than themselves. my son won an award at his school for being a good young citizen. its sad your own parents did bring you up in the same mannerSealed Pot Challenge Member NO. 853 :j0 -

lol. I have read about many parents whose children have done terrible things not just a bit of name calling and insisted that their children wouldn't do x, y or z even when they have been shown proof.
Still if it makes you feel better to call me names (which your children wouldn't do because you set them such a wonderful example) then feel free to do so.
