Now try to tell me a short list of diagnoses automatically makes someone less disabled than a long one.
This is the point I was trying to make.Sealed pot challenge #232. Gold stars from Sue-UU - :staradmin :staradmin £75.29 banked

am afraid to say no i dont have a spare fiver at the end of the week, not all people with disabilities nor disabled are well off, just think its a bit unjust to rub our noses in it,considering its a thread about wfp for people who are disabled or have disabling illnesses etc
so i take it summer our cruise is out this year then? well as suggested in another post we'll just have to stop buying the times everyday, and that ferrari you've just bought will have to go..........how the hell did this post get from saying how people who struggle to live from one week to the next and go without heating, to talking about cruises!!! its beyond me. worked all your life or not, got up before you went to bed, all for a shilling a week makes no difference. NO ONE should struggle to find money for something as basic as heat

Are you able to raise your arm above your head? My dad was unable to do that for 2 months and still has trouble with it.
I haven't been able to raise my right arm above shoulder height for several years now.
I have tried heat treatment, physio, tens machine, acupuncture and when the pain is really bad cortisone injections into the joint.
It is however an inconvenience and certainly does not constitute a disability.0 -

I do not dismiss anyones problems but as the argument sorry discussion is about benefits payable to certain people then as pensioners we qualify for the WFP. As disabled people you can apply for DLA and will get it if you meet the criteria and will also get the CWP if you receive a qualifying benefit. Seems fairly clear to me.
We get the WFP but no DLA and no CWP.
We have holidays because we have made provision for our retirement and can afford them.
Even if for one moment you thinking we shouldn't get the WFP made me consider refusing it I still wouldn't. And you still wouldn't get it.
We give more to our chosen charities than we receive from the WFP. Who knows you could be benefitting from one of those.
Certain benefits are for certain people and when DLA is means tested then I will be more than happy for the WFP to be means tested also.0 -

Actually, in the purely linguistic sense of the term "disability", it is, whether you regard it as such or not. To "be unable" to do something = to have a "disability" to do that thing.
Oh, and I notice you didn't even try to answer my post... wonder why? :PHomosexual, Unitarian, young, British, female, disabled. Do you need more?0 -
