I am utterly fed up with Abbey/Santander after 30 years, I'm changing. .......... What about Nationwide ? Positive feedback or not?

We are very happy with Nationwide and find the flexaccount particularly convenient to use when overseas. You will need to take their card reader with you to utilise all the features of internet banking.

In terms of international support HSBC would be my pick from experience. They've gone out of their way to solve my problems abroad on a few occasions.

I have been with Nationwide for coming up to 5 years now and have had no problems. Their phone customer helplines are good(only ever had UK call centres), online website easy to use and I cannot fault them : )

I DID have a few problems getting money from a few cashpoints in Dublin of all places, but Nationwide claim it wasn't their fault. I did succeed on one occasion, but that was after I'd had to get iy out on a credit card. :-(

I had the same problem getting cash from ATM in Canada. Rang them while standing at the ATM. They said it was the Canadian network and they couldnt do anything!
Tried my A&L debit card in the same machine without any problem!
So they just spun me a line!! They didnt care if I could get any cash or not!

You certainly can send FPs from the new Sort Code current accounts (I did so yesterday as a test) BUT the maximum permissible is a virtually useless £10.

I wouldn't say that counts as sending money by faster payments especially when I have other bank accounts where I can send a lot more.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

You may not, but UKPA does.

I also have other accounts through which I can send a lot more.
