Angus ( after Angus Young , greatest rock guitarist in the world according to my son) and his sister Roxy (Roxy Music).
Both are Maine Coons.( well I suppose if one is then the other must be IYSWIM!)

Our cat is called Pepsi. She was a stray and had only been at the rescue for about a week or so and hadn't been named yet so it was up to me :) I was originally thinking of Darcy or Muffin for her, but when she got here neither of them 'fit', I think you do need to get a feel for the cat and what would suit it best, then a certain name will just click :)
D'you know, in 900 years of space and time, I've never met anyone who wasn't important

I have a Teddy - big soft long haired ginger and white who used to be a stray. He really suits it as he's cuddly like a teddy bear.

Then there is Dylan - he's white with a bit of black here and there. I've had him from when he was a tiny baby and the name just suits him for some reason.

And then I have Mitzi - black and white long-haired and very lady like. I found it hard picking her name, she was called Button for a while as she has a black splodge in the middle of her white muzzle, but it didn't really suit her. In the end I was at the vet with her for her inoculations and when he asked what she was called I just went "errr...ummm... errr.. Mitzi!"

In the past I've had Oscar and Tabitha from the Mayhew rescue centre in London. They were about five years old and always had those names so I didn't see any point in changing them. They suited perfectly anyway.

Then I had Henry - he was a starving stray who I took in. I fed him up and was a beautiful natured boy - see avatar.

And then there was Baba - left behind when neighbours moved. I called him Pu$$y Wussy for a while, decided that was a stupid name and changed it to Baba, or Wee Ba as he was a real baby who loved to be picked up and cuddled.
  • My two are Garfield, already named when we took him in, and my baby Wade, he's named after Wade Garret in Roadhouse. lol. Like Sam Elliot he has a huge personality and is very handsome.

  • My 1st cat was called Tarmac a few weeks later came Asphalt. Yes they were both black.
Cat we have now is Zeb, I 1st saw him at 2 hours old and nick named him that as he was strippy andhe was the runt of the litter and would often jump when the others came near him.
His mum was my friends cat and in the end just had to come and live with us and has been here almost 10 years now.

when we adopted our cat he was called romeo, but there was no way i was going to keep that!

on the way home from the rescue we decided he looked like an arthur, and named him arthur herbert fonzarelli, but call him fonzie (after the fonz!) for short. he definitely suits his name.

sorry the picture is so big!!

i dont know what i would would call another cat if we got one. it would probably depend on the cat, but i think i would prefer names like george or mabel.

the dog came with the name of amber, but we had known her for about 4 months before adoption, so that didnt change. i suppose it suits her, as her eyes are a bit amber-y, but the rest of her is all black!
