My number is similar to that of a taxi company.
If the caller is polite I will pass on the number, if they are rude or abusive then they are fair game0 -
my home number is similar to a timber yard
like nomoneytoday, if they're polite enough they'll get the right number. if not, i take their call and occasionally take an order for delivery to a 'big job' they've got on tomorrowhelpful tips
it's spelt d-e-f-i-n-i-t-e-l-y
there - 'in or at that place'
their - 'owned by them'
they're - 'they are'
it's bought not brought (i just bought my chicken a suit from that new shop for £6.34)0 -
This is a missed opportunity for the O.P. For example.
'phone rings
O.P "Good Morning can I help you"
Caller: "I have been overcharged £9.99"
O.P "I am terribly sorry sir,our mistake. We will credit your account with
ten times the overcharge, i.e. £99.90.Is this acceptable"
and so on..............0 -
An academic at a university once printed my phone number on his business card (there was only one number different). I was getting about 20 calls a week at one point. They were often from very rude male academics who assumed I was his secretary. I'd patiently explain about the mix-up and they wouldn't listen and would demand that I do my job properly etc. A few claimed they were going to write a letter of complaint about me!0

Just on the subject of wrong numbers, one of my colleagues in local government was emailing customers for six months, but it turned out she'd transposed two digits in our office telephone number. The number she'd been sending out was for "hot girls" and "gay chat".0

isnt that always the way...you accidently give the wrong number or dial the wrong number and its always someting inappropriate0

Our phone number used to be two digits transposed from the local pub's number. The number of times I picked up the phone to the sound of irrate women asking me to hoik their menfolk out of the door and point them in the direction of a homeward stagger was nuts!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

I had that when we lived in Norfolk. We used to get calls from drunken American airmen in the middle of the night trying to get a taxi back to their air-base.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
Our number is very similar to a local pizza takeaway (funnily enough the one we use).
If the caller is rude then I will take their order politely and inform them that their food will be with them in around 45 minutes...0 -
BT gave my sister a number that the local bus station had printed on their timetables and she got very fed up telling people that she wasn't the bus station!0
