It is indeed harsh lets put the shoe on the other foot.
90% of the time I see a doctor they are late, would you think its harsh if they got the sack for been late just once? if that were the case every GP would be unemployed by now.
If someone is consistently late I understand but lets be realistic here. Also bear in mind I was waiting for TWO YEARS, and I guess I will now be waiting another two years.
Its NOT a GP, its a dentist for a start.
I AM being realistic, I deal with this day in day out, if people were that bothered they would be there on time only today 6 new patients either missed there appointment or cancelled it same day, some with only 10 minutes notice. Thats a hour that a dentist could of been treating someone.
You have to draw the line somewhere, how many times should you let someone off? Once, twice, five times? You can be late for every appointment with a 'genuine' reason; the bus was late, the cat was sick, i have to go into work, my son is sick etc etc, you cant let everyone off all the time. everyone feels that there reason is genuine, and it might be, but with everyone complaining that they cant get to see a nhs dentist, its in everyone elses best interests that we have a cut off point.0 -

3 times would be fair, once certianly not. Do you get funding from the nhs? I am curious how nhs funded dentists work, because the law seems very different on GP's and dentists. A gp can beforced to take you in by local health authority whilst a dentist can simply turn you away.
Your rambling on about letting persistent offenders off when I am talking about a first offense.0
