I'm making stock for soup. Chicken carcasss, with onion, carrots, potato, allspice, black pepper, and paprika.

I stripped all the meat off yesterdays chicken, so we'll have some with veg, gravy, and bread sauce today. The rest will be kept for stir frys, risottos, and curry.

Beef & Ale stew with the leftovers from the roast beef we had tonight. my 6L SC is more than half full so I reckon it'll do us about 2/3 more meals. All from a joint that cost £6.66, and has already served 2 for a roast and enough for 2/3 sarnies.

    Bargain!

Never thought i'd get on with the SC but I have to admit it's great. Did the bet gammon joint in it the other weekend to slice for sarnies. Was a-m-a-z-i-n-g!

i have a beef joint to go in tomorrow but not sure how to do it, any ideas please.
I have carrots and peas and onions. I have beef oxo and knorr stock pots lol
Was thinking to just put all the veg in the bottom and then put the joint in on top for 8 hours on medium. will that be ok?

That sounds absolutely fine. I like to add 6 tablespoons of red lentils (thickens liquid) and a tablespoon of barley as well because it leaves me with a beef broth soup after the beef is eaten.

some liver, smokey bacon carrots onions and neep, and a bit of chicken stock. I know liver isnt THAT great in a SC but I have tons to do and it will be for lunch so fingers crossed not that overcooked! *shivers at the thought of overdone liver*
