3 chicken legsfrom the fridge that were probably a bit closer to being on the turn than they should have been. :o but I think they'll be OK.

Now just need to decide what to do with them. Might make a vindaloo.

Good luck......do let us know you are ok?

    Hi everyone,
I've gone for beef brisket, half a can of guinness, 2 onions, 2 carrots, dried oregano, some beef stock and some garlic and pepper.

Looking forward to it. Not used my slow cooker for a while.

Serving it with mash and leeks.
  • done a beef joint that was too big for the slow cooker, so cut the ends off, the beef was really soft and just crumbled when i cut it last night!

sealed the ends in small cubes yesterday and now it is in the slow cooker, getting it ready for my 2 veg and meat pie ala baker bros, having it with mash, baby spinach and green beans.

  • I've got 2 rolled flank steaks with mushrooms and some ale. We will have this with mini roasties and brocolli today, then I may turn the leftovers into a pie if I feel so inclined!

Today I have 2 whole chickens, some fried onions(not too brown, just softened), diced carrot and celery, white wine, plain flour, mixed herbs, chicken oxo cubes.

Should be ready at about 6 :D can't wait!

    Beef curry for me tonight
  • A whole chicken today! Sitting on a bed of celery, onion, carrot, bay leaf and peppercorns with a lemon up it's behind for yummy stock. Will have white meat with roast pots or mash tonight and pasta bake and risotto later in week with leftovers.

In my slow cooker today....was a complete disaster.

The kitchen is rather cold at the moment (not surprisingly as it's 2 degrees outside) and yesterday I decided 'ooooooo, beef stew, yummy!' But due to the coldness of the kitchen it didn't cook in time for dinner.

So I decided to let it continue cooking and switch it off before I went to bed. Now here's the problem. I forgot to switch it off. The nice, lovely snuggly warmth of bed was too much of a draw last night.

At 6 o'clock this morning, I went downstairs and was greeting by this smell. Oh dear. The beef stew had cooked itself dry.

    :o

    Blast!

Got lots of steak in beef in the freezer so chopped it up (after i defrosted!) and put it in the slow cooker with lots of mushrooms and onion, gonna put it in the oven later topped with my 1p filo pastry find. Because i am addicted to my slowcooker, tomoro i will be cooking a couple of whole chickens in there, just going to put a little bit of chicken stock in, Lovely :D
