  • I have the Pate in MySC ready to go on over night. I can't wait to taste it thank you SunnyDay :)
All the talk of Gammon is making my mouth water I did not know you could get it for £4 I though i had to spend about £10 as that's what I have been seeing any ideas where a good cheaper place to go is. I don't really know a lot about buying meat.

Hey, yes i got it for £3.60, but when it came mr t's charged me the higher price of £4, so got a refund, they had a deal of 2 for £6 wish i had known it was this nice would have bought more! the one i done was 800g and is on the first line of the link below HTH

sd that pate sounds divine - dont's suppose there is such a thing as veggie pate - is there? I'm not a veggie but OH is.

Hi Beanrua - I`ve never made a veggie pate tbh, i think if i tried one it would have carrots, onions, garlic and red peppers in it. I think that it would work quite well and you could also add some black pepper or herbs or spices to perk it up a bit.

I think that red pepper goes with most things and has a lovely flavour, maybe a bit of cumin so spice it up a bit but only a tiny amount as not to take away from the other flavours.

The butter should make it set just like the meaty recipe - just be sure not to make the mixture too wet. If you give it a try let me know how it goes.

  • I am putting a Risotto in mine today, takes 4 hours on low, so i'm gonna put it on a bit later, i'm going to have that with some chicken thighs wrapped in bacon, i had this at a rodizio for the first time and didnt realise a bit of bacon could make a piece of chicken so moist, hmm it was yummy.

Off now to have some of the gammon in a wrap with cheese and lettuce for lunch.

I am looking for a bit advice.
I did a sausage and bean casserole yesterday and it looks great. The only thing is I used tinned tomatoes and a carton of passata and it has that horrible tinned tomato taste.
What can I do ? Add sugar? Stock cube?

Try some herbs, oregano would go nice and give it a bit of a pizza taste and coarse ground black pepper would also help.

Even stirring in some tomato puree or ketchup should take it away.
