Are there any packet makes or jars that work really well with a slow cooker?

    I use the following (successfully!):

Homepride cook-in-sauce (getting too expensive now at over £1 each)
Baxters (was Campbell's) condensed soup (very good - don't add extra water)
any brand powdered soup packets (use only a third or half pint of water. Knorr French Onion is particularly good)
    any jar of curry sauce
    tins of plum tomatoes

I've heard that cola is great for beef, and that ketchup-type sauces also work well but I haven't tried them.

If anyone knows of a good BBQ sauce that's cheaper than the Homepride cook-in sauces then let me know!

The French Onion is that a 1 pt packet, if so where did you get it?

Yes, 1 pint. I buy whatever brand I can find but my favourite is Knorr. I get it from Sainsburys. This is particularly good with minced beef and some mixed veg.

I'd say the usual 3.5 litre size will be fine for two. :)
