I thought it was just outbound sales or retentions in Darlington or North Tyneside who did outbound calling. I'm not sure where the first impressions team are based but they would call new customers to see how it's going.

I couldn't tell you about Bristol though, I just thought that was full of the Technical Guys!

Bristol and Portsmouth do outbound aswell, This is where the brains of Orange are (technical and network liaison as you know Nokia UK look after Oranges network for them) Darlington or Newcastle (even a small one is in Durham I believe) do more of the admin side such as billing etc unless its money then thats Sheffield

Unless your PAYG then you get through to Mumbai or somewhere local to there

However, there would be no outbound calling to a PAYG customer from a Manchester number unless Orange had outsourced, and I'm 99% sure they don't do that.

No, your quite right. No one would ever get an outbound call with any geographic code, it would always come up as a mobile number. And unless you were a VERY heavy payg user I can't see you getting a call (and maybe not even then...).
