Keep checking on baby if you do that.
One of my worst memories of my eldest is putting him down for his afternoon nap in the nude as he had awful ezcema on his thighs and bottom. However he'd woken up early and not made a sound, then he'd done a poo.
By the time I found him, he was covered from head to toe in poo, and he'd smeared it all over the cot bars, up the wall and all over the activity centre that hangs on the cot bars :eek:Here I go again on my own....0 -
hi, congratulations!! i bought my nappy wrapper second hand from a boot sale like new it was but never ever used it ended up selling it on myself! i guess the person i bought it from never used it either by the look of it!
but if you want to save money i wish i had bought washable nappies natural and enviromentally friendly!"You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need"

Washable nappies aren't that bad. I have used Motherease shaped nappies with both my boys. I couldn't bear the thought of all those stinky nappies sitting in landfills. Did you know that every disposable nappy ever produced is still here - hardly disposable!! I wash them myself, one wash every three days and job done. No more work then carrying a big bag of nappies home from the supermarket. You could always buy a few to try. I think most people are pleasantly surprised over how easy they are to use.
We now have wheelies bins which are only collected every 2 weeks, I am so glad I don't have to put nappies in there especially during the summer.
We have a Tomy walkabout premier digitial. Very clear and no problems with picking up neighbour. I did have a cheaper one but after overhearing a conversation from neighbour couldn't use it and I was paranoid she was picking up everything I was saying.
Good luck.0 -
i so wish i had used re-usable nappies now i have realised its too late he will be out of them v.soon!
i had the same problem with the intercom ours are tomy walkabout classic we got them half price from boots we realise why now its because we get our neighbours child! it was v.weird and felt strange using them so had to keep popping my head in to see if he was ok until we got a new one!
so i say if you want an intercom dont get a TOMY WALKABOUT CLASSIC! i enquired about the picking up a neighbour on the intercom and they said just move it about until you get a signal thats not your neighbour charming hey!"You have succeeded in life when all you really want is only what you really need"

Not only do you not need a nappy wrapper, but why does everyone use nappy bags???? It seems madness to me, buying something especially to throw it in the bin??? We use a mix of washables & disposables, I guess about 2 disposables a day & we just wrap them up on themselves & seal them shut with the tapes & chuck in the bathroom bin which gets emptied every 2-3 days. Even in this heat it doesn't smell I guess because they are tightly wrapped shut. The only time we use nappy bags are when we are out & there isn't a bin to use or if we need to bring home a dirty washable or bib or something.I'm still on the first box of 200 which I bought when my 10 month old was due, have used about 30 I guess & even when I feel guilty about putting disposables into landfill at least I'm not adding a plastic bag each time too.
Re monitors, get the most basic one you can. Extra sensor pads, thermometers, cctv etc all just play on a parents paronia IMHO. You just need to be able to hear them when they are out of crying distance (which is a long waaaaaay when they want to be heard!). They are all pretty good on distance & the only time our bottom of the range tomy one picks up anyone else (4 in use is a 7 house radius) is when the main baby unit is turned off but the parent unit is on & one of our neighbours has the reverse & is using the same channel. Doesn't happen very often at all. (and luckily we all like each other & don't say nasty things!)
HTH & good luck;)Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p

I used nappy bags to mask the smell of pooh!!!!, i would not leave a soiled (number 2) nappy in a bin for 2 to 3 days anyway, dont understand how u cant smell the poo! lol:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0

I can only attribute the lack of smell to the nappies being tightly rolled shut & in a lidded bin in a cool north facing room, but I promise you they really don't smell...well, I guess if you put your head upto the open bin they might but you don't smell them when you walk into the bathroom.Post Natal Depression is the worst part of giving birth:p
