i guess you have been around to all the different providers already and asked?
i will go 2mrw as the snow has finally cleared up, but if you've already tried im not holding out much hope.
im going to send this thread to martin or one of the board guides and see what they think, but i guess they told us about it (apparently they sent me a letter), so nothing we can do....
still false advertising though so im hoping to get some money back by using that arguement.....

There was a thread all about this last Sept but I can`t find it now.
The pros and cons were discussed then and like you said I looked into it and concluded the Virgin package I was and still on, couldn`t be beaten even with the full minute charge (deduction).
If I call someone and get through and speak for about 30 seconds I accept that a minute gets deducted,although I`m not happy about it.
What really gets up my nose is if it rings about three times and goes to voice mail I still get deducted a full minute.
To me they don`t let it ring enough times before going to VM.
Of course these tactics are the thin edge of the wedge by companies to fleece more money out of you.
If you do find a better deal,let us all know.

It is my experience that you cannot change the number of rings before the mobile goes on to voicemail therefore with most you do not get this choice unless you ring off very quickly. I have been told that the choice of voicemail is to either have it on or not.
You can change it. This is for Virgin phones. Other networks will have different codes. You need to first find your voicemail box number by dialing in *#67#. It should start +44. Then dial in **61(voicemail box number)**30#. This will change the delay to 30 seconds.0 -

You can but if you dont know your networks codes you can usually go to your Call settings -> Voice calls -> If not answered -> Options -> Activate -> To voice mailbox.
There you can normally select the delay time between 5 and 30 seconds.It will then instruct the network to implement the change.0 -
Hi i have a virgin mobile phone contract where i pay £10 per month for 300 mins + 300 texts....
my bill was near £30 this month so i checked my online statement and added up the used minutes and it came way short of 300, so i thought i had been wrongly charged......
i rang up virgin c/s to be told that i am charged per minute for EVERY CALL?!!!!
This means even if i make a call of 3 seconds i get chnarged for the whole minute?! is that correct, i thought everybody did per secound billing for contract phones?!
The guy even said that ALL mobile providers (orange, 02, voda etc) now charge per minute for every call?
is this true?.......what a joke if it is!....
Only the first minute is rounded up after the first minute its per second0 -
In that case you'd be better off spending a few extra £'s each month on a higher tariff rather than get a £30 each month.0
