Ideas for the governemt

I'm not sure which forum this idea fits in with, maybe we need a new one!!

Have you any ideas for the government, which could help them to use our money more effectively, saving us taxes in the longer term?

I have already suggested a few things;

-if new graduates work for 5 years in the public services e.g, the NHS, education etc, why not wipe out their student loans.

-why can't we have wind turbines/solar panels installed on the top of tower blocks and all government buildings, not much chance of anyone complaining about spoilt views!!!

Most central government offices are rented rather than government owned. Wind turbines are large and heavy, not designed for rooftops nor urban areas.
If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales

why do you think that working for the government produces greater wealth (and hence lower taxes) than working in private industry?
do you not value clean water, gas, electricity, medical drugs, food, communications, internet, transport, the arts, wind turbines, solar panels etc etc etc
  • Graduates are said to be opting not to work in the public sector many are opting to work overseas 'the brain drain'. And while they may fund their own higher education we still invest in their education up to the age of 18, or thereabouts, so I would suggest that wiping out their sudent debt could be an incentive for working in the public sector, so we get back something from our initial investment in their education.

I do not have a problem with private sector srvices; clean water etc but I think they make enough money out of us all to invest in their own recruitment initiatives, bonuses and benefits incentives.

We need our best brains to be out there creating wealth and creating new inventions.
Without this we won't be able to afford public services and we will have no jobs for our children

I'm not at all sure that graduates avoid the public service anyway or that masses are emigrating either.

So how would you treat graduates who have worked and paid their way through university and have no loans?
  • 1. in a bonus scheme/incentive you would offer alternative choices.

    2. who said the best brains are graduates?

Great idea but where do your suggestions go?

Why cannot windmills/turbines be made of clear perspex/glass or similar see-through material & then we would not have ugly masts on hills?
Warning noises could be broadcast to save birds & animals bumping into them.

  • Thanks Nosht

we need creative thinkers, like me and you!!! We can do all the thinking and the other people can iron out the practicalities and make it happen!!!

Like you say, if turbines are to heavy someone will take the challenge to come up with a solution, you've already given them a start!!!

I was hoping that government ministers and local government employees log in to this site

More public sector employees will cost more tax not less.

How about the government stops spending money on advertising. Why spend money telling us to drive, drink and smoke less when the government makes money from these activities?
