After cancelling Tiscali - please help!

    if u are a tiscali customer u can now leave talk talk free of charge as they are changing yr package ,i spoke to them yesterday to get confirmation,phone them back and they will now say its free

  • what telephone number has everyone rang, I finished with tiscali on 31st dec but I just discovered I'm getting charged for January.
    Tiscali charge for their broadband in arrears, so the January bill will come at the beginning of Feb. The charge you have received in Jan will be for the December period.

    Well i had this email yesterday:

    "Dear Miss ********
    Thank you for your email regarding TalkTalk's recent acquisition of Tiscali.

    I can confirm that TalkTalk Group have purchased Tiscali, however Tiscali will continue to operate as an independent company for the near future. Any services you may have with Tiscali will continue as usual.

    If you would like to transfer to TalkTalk for your telephone and broadband services, you would need to contact our sales team and migrate to TalkTalk as a new customer.

    Then today i had this (from the same email address??):

    "Dear Miss ********,

    I confirm receipt of your email, the contents of which have been noted. I tried to contact you by telephone earlier today, in order to discuss the matter further. Unfortunately, you were not available. (I had my phone with me and on loud all day as i've not been in work and had no missed calls :confused:)

    Please accept our apologies for any inconvenience, which may have been caused as a result of issues you may be experiencing regarding the cancellation and billing of your account.

    After further investigation into the matter, I can confirm that you called us to cancel your account on the 1st December 2009. Your account cancelled with us on the 16th December 2009. I cannot offer you a refund for any charges before the 16th December 2009 - as we cancelled within the 30 day notice period required by us in our Terms and Conditions Agreement.

    You will receive a cancellation adjustment on your final invoice for services charged after the 16th December 2010. You will receive your final invoice in your next monthly cycle. As your last invoice has been paid already, your account will stand in credit. Kindly contact us when you receive this invoice and we will issue you with the refund that is due.

    I look forward to hearing from you with regard to same. We would like to take this opportunity to assure you that appreciate your past custom. If there is anything further we may assist you with please do not hesitate to contact us, on the details provided below.

    Sooooooooooooooooooooo I guess I just wait for this invoice now then?? Though i've never had one through the post before only by email (which of course doesn't work now), I'll post again when i've recieved it!

    I pay by credit card. Last bill was 1st -31st dec. The new bill is for 1st - 31st Jan which I shouldn't be charged as of 31st I was with Plusnet.

    could you let me have the e-mail address you used?

    We swtiched from Tiscali to talk talk 24.12.09 and have been billed in February!

    They won't speak to me but I need to get an e-mail for my hubby to contact them!
    I currently manage a Housing Benefit service and have been working in Housing / council tax benefit (as was) since 2001.
