New parking appeals panel

Perhaps it's because the courts are seeing so many of these claims, that an appeals tribunal needs to be set up in an attempt to reduce the number of court cases?

Do you have any evidence of that? Dates, case nos. etc? If there actually were any cases going to court then you and Perky would be on here crowing about them. Thats if you and Perky are not the same person of course.
• Courts? Seeing so many of these? Are you joking? You can count the ppc court cases on the fingers of one hand.

No, see the word "Perhaps" and the question mark at the end?

That signifies it is a question, one which may not have any foundation, but one which would be a reason to set up an appeals panel.
Do you have any evidence that it isn't the case? a link to an independent, trusted source would be nice ;)

Why do you think the transport minister wishes to set up an independent appeals panel for private car parking charges, given that you already have posting indicating that private car parking charges are, in your opinion, illegal, unlawful and/or unenforcible?
Don't forget to give some reliable, independent source to back up your response. Include "Dates, case nos. etc" if you also wish to :D

No, I can assure you, unlike some on here, I only post under this ID. Unlike some people, I don't need multiple ID's to gain mutual back-slapping, support and thanks.

Well I have no alter-ego on here, and no reason to suspect others do. But I can see your agenda is to lead this thread away from the original post, Premier. So I will now ignore everything you say on this thread, as you have consistently ignored me in other threads.

This is to the other posters on here (not Premier so don't bother reading it matey):

Let's bring this important thread back on track.

I totally agree with the OP Dublindel, that this issue should be our point of focus - the proposed new legislation is ill-advised to say the least. How can they regulate an industry based on extortion, misrepresentation and unlawful penalties?

What can the British people do to ensure that Sadiq Khan's office hears some home truths about how this issue affects ordinary people - instead of the spin that the BPA seems to have sold to them?

Let's start by emailing the Transport Minister himself and giving his secretary some work:

Private Office to The Rt Hon Sadiq Khan MP
• Telephone: 020 7944 3082
• Fax: 020 7944 4492
• Email: sadiq.khan@dft.gsi.gov.uk
Contact details obtained from here:

http://www.cabinetoffice.gov.uk/ministerial_responsibilities/departments/dft.aspx#privateoffice2

An email or two from all of us on here and on pepipoo, worded as carefully as you can to explain the inherent flaws in the whole approach of this legislation would be a start. Copy in your own MP and maybe a newspaper or two as well, even if you think it will have no effect.

If we do nothing then this legislation will effectively legalise extortion!

I, and the many other posters on here, CAG and Pepipoo [they are NOT all me whatever you may think, I only have one ID on each forum] are living proof that ignoring PPC invoices works. We have all successfully ignored them.

Already answered quite succinctly by HO87 in post #10, I can't really add anything to that.

I cannot give "dates and case nos etc" for cases that do not and never will exist.

Nor do I.
• As far as I know only Perky uses multiple ID's when he's trolling.

Yes, it's rather difficult to prove a negative.

I once heard of somebody who, after complaining to a book-club that a book hadn't arrived, was told by the book club to prove they hadn't received the book!

Further to my recent post above about emailing Sadiq Khan about private parking companies,
I should have also suggested we email/copy in the (Con) Shadow Secretary of State for Transport, who I think from a quick Google search is Theresa Villiers who doesn't seem to be on the side of clampers:

Just bumping this important thread as Premier seems to have lost interest.

I haven't though - let's contact the MP, shadow MP, papers and all with our considered opinions on the ill-informed idea of regulating the 'un-regulatable'.

It would be criminal if this proposed legislation gets off the ground, I believe it was probably started by lobbying from the BPA etc. Can we lobby louder?

• Thanks for your support Coupon-mad. To everyone else i say this. lets not go on about the current situation, ignore ignore ignore, or the use of the courts which as we all know is the only true avenur currently for the PPC's. If government get involved then it is best that we get involved as well and make every attempt to shape the future of how this new development will be employed. be positive and lets start making some ground breaking suggestions. and one suggestion from me is that if an independent panel is created then laymen (US) should have a representative involved
