howdens "lamona" appliances question - any good?

My main issue with Howdens' appliances was that they wouldn't tell me how much I would be paying for them, so I couldn't tell if they were VFM.
I still couldn't work it out when I had a new quote without them, as they'd also given me a 'discount', taken off the worktops, which we were buying elsewhere (bamboo - they look great) and changed a couple of other bits.
We got our range cooker from Ideal Kit and our extractor from Mark's Electrical. Looking for a dishwasher now...Worker in, and passionate advocate of, the credit union movement. I don't speak for the sector or for any individual CU. My opinions & experiences are my own.

It seems a product weekness. My tap fractured after 3 years. Replace the spout. 3 years later fractured again. Replacing spout again. At about £50 for replacement in hindsite would fit better quality unit in future from the off. The material is very thin.0

The hinges for the glass flap fail and fall to bits. Tiny plastic parts £70 for replacement set of hinges!!0

Sorry. The glass flap is on Lamona cooker hood.0

I've used 2 Lamona tap spouts in 7 years. Always fail in the same place.0

We had a integrated Lamona Microwave HJA7030. It’s worked fine over the past 14 months. But one of the plastic lugs on the door snapped off, which operates the door closure mechanism, which allows you to use the microwave. We tried phoning, Lamona, no reply. The web site has no contact Email address, and advises you to contact your local Howden’s branch. I’ve Emailed them, several days ago....you guessed it, no reply. I’ve just Emailed the CEO of Howden’s. Let’s see if anything happens. The Lamona label, shows ‘Made In Italy’. Still trying to find contact details for them. Lamona carries a 3 year worthless warranty at present. Sadly Lamona are over priced. I think a replacement would be nearly £500.00. If I’d seen an itemised bill, I would never have purchased it.0
