Thank you Eoin - it is a sensible and quite serious topic. The article in the press today was, IMHO, a sop to calm the masses down. "Look how cheap they are!" etc. There's a lot more to the debate than 62p. Worth consideration.

EDIT: yes, SS, maybe discussion time would be a better place for this. But I originally intended a little (shock! horror!) amusement.

You're right. I, and many others, have discussed this contentious topic in the wrong forum. I will now make my way into the correct forum where I will not be infringing on the negative liberty of my fellow MoneySavers.
