Reclaiming Monarchy Charges

News just in...

The monarchy costs each of us 62p per year.

How do I go about reclaiming this charge? :D
 What if the hokey cokey is what it's all about?

Ever wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.

go to your mp, get new legislation passed and make sure legislation applies respectively so we get charges back since we started paying tax. at the same time get legislation also to say monarchy pay capital gains tax

How about reclaiming the costs of MPs instead, they cost a lot more than the monarchy each year. Don’t forget that the monarchy also brings a lot of money into the country, so for an investment of 62p its great value. Also, don't presidents cost a lot more money too?

would this money still come into country without them? if not on what evidence are you basing this?

A republic would bring more money in. Think how much public money could be generated if we opened up all those Royal residencies every day of the year, and if we auctioned off the enormous Windsor-Schicklgruber-Hitler-Saxe-Coburg art gallery. If tourism is what we're concerned about, then we should declare a republic tomorrow, because we'll get far more tourism if the parasitic buffoons are kicked out of their residencies to let a few European/American simpletons in to have a good look around. The other 160+ non-monarchy states of the world seem to survive in absence of an aristocratic family whose power is derived by accident of birth.

MPs are elected, serve a purpose, and have achieved their position on merit. I'd rather chuck £55,000 at each of them a year than spend £3.7 million on a family of Germans/Spaniards whose only functions are to aid the sales of badly-written newspapers and to give Fern and Phil something to talk about on This Morning.

Edit: N.B. that the entire House of Commons is cheaper per year than the Royal Family, at just under £3.5m, so no, they don't cost more than the hideous Teutons each year.

and also sold all of the crown jewels, the numerous limos, helicopters, planes, yachts, (the list is endless).

House of Commons elected and does serve a purpose. There are some fair/good/outstanding mp's but many more are opportunists full of self interest who got there because of apathy rather than merit.

Let's not forget the public execution ceremony. That could be beamed all across the world; think of the money generated from TV rights. Then there's the merchandise, e.g. 'I was there' T-shirts, and suchlike. Then we could make some Mel Gibson-style films.

It'll be 1649 all over again. Yes!
