Yes, me too :( They are not good at all! They use designers pictures and start with a code number whilst using a UK address to get around the 'UK Only' filter. So sorry the OP got 'caught' by them.
:rotfl:Ahahah got my signature removed for claiming MSE thought it was too boring :rotfl:

Hi Shel, really sorry to hear about your disapointing dress situation. But never fear- you can and will have your dream wedding on a budget!
Check out my signature - I'm the budget wedding fairy! I know mine was £7K but I made friends with other B2B's who got married for 2 or 3K. Heres a few pieces of advice to start you off - but feel free to add me as a friend or subscribe to my diary (J_pink) and I am always just an email away...
    • Dress - I would think long and hard before ordering a new dress on ebay - used ones will be much better value and more legitimate. I sold my £1200 stunning swarovski fairytale dress to a lady for £200. It had been dry cleaned, boxed and everything! Have you tried looking in second hand shops in posh towns? You could ring around?
    • Shoes, veil, accessories - ebay, second-hand shops and car boots. Some high street bargain basement stores like Next clearrence outlet stock shoes for a tenner! I went to BHS in the January sales for my bridesmaid dresses and got them from £120 to £22.
    • Entertaining - You need somewhere who WILL ALLOW you to bring your own booze and caterers in. That was my big mistake. Find a local cafe to cater, or ask a local college with catering courses. The students would love to get involved! and it would be cheap. Serve Bucks fizz or Cava (most won't be able to tell it's not champagne!)
    • Make your own centre pieces - Ikea candles, Ikea glass votives (20p each!) with petals scaterred look absolutly divine.
    • Photos - Go on Gumtree website to find really cheap local photographer. Again you could get a local photography student for £100 if you search hard.
    • Alternatively just get a friend and a digital camera/camcorder to set up some lovely shots. Honestly - the best pitcures i got were from my own camera
I hope some of these tips help. Good luck finding a venue and just remember that if you are really creative and look carefully for the things you need, you will find them nice and cheap too. It's only idiots with daddy's money that have it to burn!

Enjoy your wedding and the lack of debt after it.

J_pink I didnt think about the charity shops what do I do just call the charity shops and ask if they have wedding dress's ??
I have my shoes :D and watching a bag on Ebay too.....I have been looking for bridesmaid dress's for really cheap if I cant find them cheap I wont be having them :( I have found some nice little suits for my children on Ebay so thats good. I think they are £30 each

I have been thinking about my catering and I think you are right I think I will find somewhere that will allow me to do my own food

I am planning to make my own centre peices just simple ones will be fine I have diamontes to scatter on the table

I have a friend who knows someone who may do my photos but I have also seen on Gumtree that some people are doing the photography for free can they be trusted??

Thank you for your suggestions :D

My cousin has a friend who manages a cricket club and the man said I could have the hall free so waiting to go to see that but that is in Bromley and my local area is the Greenwich area..there is also another cricket club in Bromley its m uch nicer than the free one and its £300.....If I was to get married in a reg office I would go to Sidcup and I dont know if people will travel from Sidcup to Bromley

I will take some pictures but I cant post any links as Im a new member
I started to have a look on Ebay lastnight are any of the UK dress MAKERS truthfull as I dont want to make the same misstake by ordering from a UK dress maker then to be told its from China!

Could you do the whole thing in Bromley? I am getting married in the register office there and it is very nice!
