    Hi all

My dress was made by a Uk seller on Ebay but she didnt let on to the fact that she also ordered them from china if she was busy!!

Linda thank you for the welcome the site wont let me post a link so if you google alfred angelo style 810 thats what my dress is meant to look like....but the band under the breasts is much lower and much thicker and more lace than beading and also the breast area is to large for my boobs to fit...she has placed little cup like things inside the dress but you can actually see them and they are tiny compaired to my boobs!
I requested star buttons every other button but she made stars out of beads and it is awful so I was thinking maybe take the beads off and replace them with buttons
    :D

A bit late now, but all that above would have been enough for me to raise a dispute with paypal, and you would have had full refund! It does sound like a bodge job, sure Linda can advise what can be done, if anything!

    Yes Linda thats the one

Hi Wendy I dont know if I would feel a bit silly sitting in a restaurant in my dress Lol but that sounds like a good Idea but then I wouldnt get to have my after party for the rest of the guests

It is a bodge just and has no bones :( so I now need to get a corset
Its better to have loved and lost than not loved at all
  • I know it sounds weird but are there any village halls or recreation centres or town halls etc etc in your area? Some can be lovely inside if you decorate them? And then you could find a caterer who can do what you want, when you want it?? Also, you sometimes find that the local pubs in a village will provide bar staff and drinkies - alot of village halls now have bar areas.....??

Where abouts are you?? Not specifically...just vaguely - then you may find people on here locally who can make suggestions? Or we can help you google?? Town name or county name etc?
Baldrick, does it have to be this way? Our valued friendship ending with me cutting you up into strips and telling the prince that you walked over a very sharp cattle grid in an extremely heavy hat?

Before you spend anymore money, post us some pictures of the dress. Let Linda take a look and tell you whether a fix is possible. There are some good dresses on Ebay, the trick is avoidig the ones that source from China on the quiet, its sneaky if you want a Landy/Milly dress you will go to that site itself. There are a lot of clearance dresses from actual bridal shops at some very silly prices, (just look at the one I was tempted by, BIN £85!!!!)

I am from South East London
There is a hall in my Mum's village but im not keen on that plus its just a big empty hall so Id have to hire a bar! My cousin has a friend who manages a cricket club and the man said I could have the hall free so waiting to go to see that but that is in Bromley and my local area is the Greenwich area..there is also another cricket club in Bromley its m uch nicer than the free one and its £300.....If I was to get married in a reg office I would go to Sidcup and I dont know if people will travel from Sidcup to Bromley

I will take some pictures but I cant post any links as Im a new member
I started to have a look on Ebay lastnight are any of the UK dress MAKERS truthfull as I dont want to make the same misstake by ordering from a UK dress maker then to be told its from China!

If you stick to the shop clearance ones, you should be okay! I will have a look for you!
    Can I ask what size?

ETA, Who was the seller on Ebay, so we know who to avoid?

Yes, I have seen those names. I have to say wasn't tempted by them as the pictures were just a 'bit' not quite right. So if we look around a lace up 16 for a bit of give?? Sarah-kate Bridal are very good, excellent feedback and great prices, all from their own shop ex display and they allow you to visit and try on before buying (but too far for you!) Plus they do allow returns subject to you covering cost of posting back, which gives me a lot of confidence in them!
