I sell quality, ethical children's books online - anyone who fancies doing this? (you get sales by publicising in blogs, websites, social networking sites, etc or to friends & family and giving the link to your area of the company website).
There is no investment needed at all, unless you want to sell at fairs, parties, etc. when you would need to buy some books to display at these events.
I am not suggesting you will earn a fortune, I certainly don't but then again I don't put a lot of time into to it at the moment as I am snowed under at work (hope to change this). Its worth a few pounds a month to me at the moment; I hope it will be more as I have just bought a huge pile of really cheap sale books from them to sell direct.
The other thing is, like the person who wanted to raise money for premature babies earlier in the thread, a person can sign up to be an online seller for a school, nursery, charity etc. and just give their link out to their friends, contacts or supporters and any sales made give commission at 20% to the school / nursery / charity with the link.
I know I am rambling now, its been a long day, if you want to do this go to barefootbooks.com and sign up.
You will need to sign up with a team leader at some point, they will give you help in starting. If you want any more info please PM me.
I'm sure you're trying to help, but I don't think people are allowed to advertise their network marketing business on the forums? You will need to check with a board moderator, as you can get in trouble for getting people to join your business.. Not sure, its what ive gathered from different posts on the forum before.

Hello everyone
hope you're all great, is anyone carbooting at all yet ?
Hi bing0
I'm preparing for a car boot! I have lots of baby stuff and our local one is flooded so I am going to try a fairly new one in the next town which opens in Feb. I'd like to be the regular 'baby stuff lady' so I'll build up to buying to sell. At the mo it is my stuff and a couple of other people's on a 50/50 basis.
Thank you so much for this 10k/2010 thread it has really spurred me on to stop procrastinating and do something. I need to calm down and do one thing at a time though. Have been looking at jewellery making supplies and need to stop it. First I must declutter, sell and MAKE money before I start spending on supplies for another 'great idea at the time'!
My ebaying is doing ok and have just put 7 items on Amazon for the 1st time! yay me!
If I could make 10k a year selling bits, car booting, selling jewellery, books, perhaps rejoin Avon, I'd be sorted!
I took up the list 5 things for 5 days yesterday and today set myself the Amazon challenge. I need to think how I can make money tomorrow...:j July '08 wins: £20 Foster Grant sunglasses...Lazy Town DVD...NScessity ActivSkins Kids Sun/swim set...Paddington Bear DVD

Turia - truly is on about BarefootBooks.com, one thing I do want to point out about it is that you do NOT have to sign up with or through a team leader0

I can't catch up no matter how fast I try to read it real life comes in the way and if I read every post I'd never have time to actually make money! Thanks Dinah93, really helpful post. With reference to being the lowest price in a category, are some people using automated software to hit this, as I have played around with a few prices and find I am undercut by a penny no matter where I go instantly. I tried one book (didn't care if it sold too cheap
) and dropped it right down to pennies (from £20) and was undercut immediately ... put it back up to £20 and was undercut at 19.99 within seconds. In the end I decided to price it where I am happy and see for now ... can't beat an automated system or all books would be 1p no matter what
.
Interesting, haven't come across automated software but I have noticed some people always undercut. To avoid triggering this price it the same as them, no lower or higher, 50-50 chance the buyer will buy from you!Hi Guys
Two queries, the first is I linked my bank account to paypal again today (deleted it back along as my credit card got frauded and I freaked out!) Credit card was fine today but when I wanted to verify the bank account it bought up a direct debit mandate. I understand I could top up my paypal account from the bank but not sure about a direct debit as that's for regualr payments? Anyone else experienced this? I can't remember it doing that the first time but that was a few years ago.
Thanks
The problem with this direct debit is that it allows paypal to take money out of your account without your authorisation, for example if you forget to pay your ebay fees. I sold a laptop about 3 months ago that someone disputed was in the same condition as in the advery, and raised a paypal complaint. Paypal attempted to take the money out of my bank account to 'hold' while the dispute was determined. In the end I won anyway (astonishing for a seller!) but the fact that they could take £200 out of my account without telling me first really shook me.I've got a big list of unwanted bits and bobs which is going on ebay tomorrow, which I am hoping to make around £100 from. I'm also mulling over whether to sell my CD collection, I will check how much music magpie will give me and compare it.
See how much Amazon are selling for too, usually its around 4x the price you'd get on music magpie, and for CDs I just wrap them in tissue and stick them in a standard envelope not a jiffy bag, so they're easy and cheap to post, and I've never had a complaint about sending them this way either.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Thought I would never recoup my bingo Britain money.
Was £30 quid down from the depositing to withdraw £50 minimum/72 hrs saga and have had no choice but to keep playing through the little wins I had such as £10. Tonight I played the bronze scoop and didn't win the £2000 but payed the next game and won 2 lines and full house making it £65.
Put in withdraw request for £64 so am now up by £34. Phew.
I know its only a little thing but it was bugging me.

Thanks Turia, I take your point and have edited to take out the bits that look as if I am advertising (I think, brain is frazzled tonight).
I think it might be okay to discuss this type of stuff - after all, avon, etc - have their own actual thread on Up Your Income - as long as it doesn't look like advertising.
My intention was to let people know about it so they could do it if they wanted, especially charities, schools who could benefit from it.1373/100000 -
big sigh of relief there jo

I'm tired, but I have been watching a local bargain for a couple of days now (not constantly...), and there is just 22 minutes to go. Just one bid on it for 0.99p, i'm hoping they are an early bedder, and are not waiting ready to pounce, like I am. OH has said there is no way on earth it will go for just a couple of pounds, and that the seller will likely pull the item in the last couple of minutes, if they think that's all they'll get.
We shall see. I'm learning loads here, it's lots of fun, but I am neglecting other things so I will need to establish some balance, early days.I learned that courage was not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it. The brave man is not he who does not feel afraid, but he who conquers that fear.0
