I think like this sometimes! But in a way faster turn over is better since I don't have a lot of space anyway.
3) Not sure when or if you have "ball/ school formal season" in the UK? But its one of my plans to stock up during the year on things that I can sell when it rolls around here.
Anyway good luck all!)
High school proms are in July, at the very start, if thats helpfulSignature down for maintenance :rotfl:0 -
Maybe the 99p starting bids clothes don't increase too much as there are so many items of clothes selling. I find it is onyl worth me listing clothes separately if they are unusual, very eye catching or designer (and even designer is hit and miss) they sell much better in lots but only if you had them free or very cheap in first place. Talking of which I have sorted out the 6 bags of clothes my brother gave me today and considering they were going to 'tip' them there were about 3 black bags full of good resellable stuff, some designer bits too some unworn and lots for bundles, am on 2nd load of washing now, house like a chinese laundry but should be worth it if I get a decent return, esp since they were freebies to start with. On -ive side I did spend 1k today, on a new sofa on a whim but my theory is if we have a nice comfy sofa to sit on I may spend less time out of the house shopping and more inside on ebay, watchin tv whatever and therefore save more in long run lollol.0

p.s. with buy it now, I have found if I undercut the lowest current bid on same item being sold by other people I tend to sell straightaway, did that with a Bumbo seat few days back and it worked a treat! Also my cousin has given me Philosophy gift sets to sell over the last few months and I have put them on at BIN around £5 a time and sold within minutes, prob cos they are much more expensive from the shops!!0

Hi all,
Thank you for letting me join, I have made my first sale, £70 on a item that was someone elses and agreed to split with me 50/50 ........ I took note of the make money out of other people's laziness ....... so after costs from ebay, postage and their 50% split I reckon £70 aint half bad and still not spent any of my £100.00 yet. Will be tapping them up for more designer gear to sell in the future.
This thread has also inspired me to look at local area pick ups and currently bidding on a few items to resell, so £70/£10,000 away we go.:D
I know this will give others the incentive to ask people or place cards in shop windows selling items on a 50/50 basis.......good for you.
It's just doing something slightly different than the crowd, that catches peoples attention.
A good money maker would be to offer a collect / wrap service for ebayers in your area.Find a cheap courier (there are many out there now) and offer them your time /service.You could charge a one off fee of £xxx
depending on the time it takes to collect, wrap and post.I'm probably waffling, but I bet there is a demand for this service-what do you think ?
It's great to see so many people following / joining this challenge. To all interested, yes you can join, just ask and we'll sort it out for you.I'm sure there are many MSE who could help scrooge2008 update the list ? It is quite a job keeping up with the list on your own !
Everybody is doing great, just the fact that you get yourself in the zone to do the challenge is a massive step. It's only the first few weeks into it,so there is plenty of time to make headway.......
Well done everyone-give yourselves a pat on the back:dance::dance::dance:"Do not let what you can't do interfere with what you can do."0 -
I live near a Next clearance shop who have excellent sales. Next clothes can sometimes be £5 !!!! Wondering buying some to sell on ebay for a profit
Anyone done this? Any advice? Tips etc
Thanks
Not personally but I know of someone who was doing this and was getting more demand than she could lay her hands on, it was very successful...not sure if certain type of Next stuff thou of just general, suppose buy a few things from different sections and see what happens, Next sells well on ebay, maybe cos it can be alot dearer in the shops and people seem to love it...don't know about girls and womens but isnt the boys and mens very samey........0 -

I wish there was 2 in the store, then I wouldn't have had this problem. Maybe I should keep it and sell another one of my bags?

I'm a very bad person and [STRIKE]buy[/STRIKE] bought party outfits etc that only ever got worn once for my toddler, a shirt and waistcoat set i got for about £8 in a next sale sold for £21 on eBay after being worn (although this was a bit of a fluke - a damn good one though ) and similar with his other smart stuff, not black trousers though, people don't seem to like Next black trousers
Oooh I really ought to stop this trying to be helpful malarky when i've got heaps to do myself
Does anyone have any tips for photographing black items for sale, in my exp they just look like nothing when you try to take a pic, I have a really nice Karen Millen top but avoided putting it on ebay as it just looks relaly plain, the photos dont do it justice at all! Agree with party wear cos most people leave it til last min for christenings, special birthdays etc then find is out of stock so go onto ebay to look...same for dressing up stuff, and when you are desparate you will inevitably panic and pay more than you may have wanted too!0 -
I have just updated my signature - £0 to £1.99 woo hoo!
I have been looking ALL NIGHT since I got home from work into seasonal stuff (valentines) but then as soon as I start thinking, how am I going to sell this other than ebay and then realise i'll have to try and sell them face to face to people to make money (at uni, at work etc) and then have a big freak out, aaahhh noooo too scary! I've done it so many times with so many different things, that, after a while its easy for confidence to be lost very quickly. I dont want to do what i've done so many times in the past (start on a new venture, tell everyone I know about it only to lose confidence and quietly walk away only to do it all over again in a few months!) so i'm trying to think about consequences - there's no point me buying all this stuff and never selling it and losing money. I'm off and running tonight with a couple of small items sold on ebay, and a free matched bet on the tennis which brought in £16 net (pardon the pun).
I've got a big list of unwanted bits and bobs which is going on ebay tomorrow, which I am hoping to make around £100 from. I'm also mulling over whether to sell my CD collection, I will check how much music magpie will give me and compare it.0
