  • Not a bad idea CTC, and it reminds me that back in the UK I have an old book (c.1900) with photographs of sights and cities around the world. Originally I intended to have it rebound, as it is falling apart, but did subsequently wonder if there would be any money in selling the pictures individually for mounting. Might be worth picking it up next time I'm visiting the UK and ... yes ... trying some of them on ebay ...!

ok ... dont all jump on this idea...:rotfl:

    but just found this seller,

    http://shop.ebay.co.uk/123eurosr/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25

looks as though they buy old magazines etc, and cuts of the old adverts and sells them,

Now this good thinking outside the box, as most people would look at a tatty old mag in the loft and think no one would buy that, or its olny worth a few pence, BUT by cutting it up carefully you can make more money...

I have also seen this done with old speicalist dog magazines and papers, with the breeds winner articles cut out etc,

Now i am not saying they all sell, and how long it will take to sell them, or how much it will cost... but hopefully this idea might help you think outside the box when you go scouting for stuff to sell

EXCELLENT idea thank you, I've got some magazines from 50s/60s, was going to maybe use them for applique but this sounds great! :T
I have come here to chew bubblegum and kick @ss.... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

this happens quite alot with old books that have 'plates' in them, but just make sure the book isnt a total rare one:rotfl: i know that would be my luck... take pics out aand the book is worth a zillion squidaroonies:rotfl:

James you made me chuckle, we do like a bargain in Wales. You may be able to make a profit at a car boot not everyone wants to can carry 10 tins home.

I've almost wrapped all of my 21 items on Ebay(only 4 have bids)if they don't sell this time, they usually do on a relist.

    Well done everyone.

I've unearthed some unused Virgin cosmetics that I had in my demo kit during my short-lives career as a consultant, with a retail value of £100/€140. Would it be better to sell them at a flea market, or put them on Ebay (yes, I know I said I wouldn't ...)

aha..... the lure of ebay has got to you!!!

Stick em on ebay, you might be surprised!!

Well done Mabel, how long of a notice period have you got to work????

    Evening everyone!

Firstly, sad to read eyesparky's post, hope you're ok xxxx

Amber, I would wait until next month to sell your Virgin stuff, I watch body shop cosmetics and they are not making as much as normal this month, probably because everyone has had stuff for christmas, that ebay debut might have to wait!!!!!

I went to asda today and found a lonely sale rail with clothes about 75% off, bought a few bits (would have bought a few more but was getting the look from my OH!) Going to give them a go on ebay. My spare room is starting to get quite full! Nothing else to report today, going to start totting up where I am in a bit, will update tomorrow, think it will be a minus but I do have lots of stock sitting all around me!
