Have they been used or opened?? how old are they?

Opened only occasionally to demonstrate, they haven't been touched or used. Had them about 18 months so technically past the 12 month period but since they haven't been touched, shouldn't be contaminated.

Thankyou :-) Heard today they have a table top sale at the hall by Sainsburys Barnstaple a few times a year so might try that to get shot of some stuff.

    Evening everyone,

Now that the power is back and the kids are in bed i can catch up.

Firstly a big thank you for all the ideas re websites for my cakes, i have decided to have a page through Flickr for now, as i only make them for friends/family and their friends. I have however made a plan which is a long term plan ....
Finish my 3rd year Cake decorating course (ends in may)
Continue to make cakes solely for friends/family and build up my portfolio
Make the £10k and pay off debts
Make more money and in 12-24 months time open a decent, reliable cake decorating shop, selling supplies, running courses and selling cakes (i lack a reliable supply shop within 45 mins drive)

I will also use the money i make to:
Attend a floristry/flower arranging course (to learn new ways of displaying my sugar flowers)
    Attend a balloon decorating course

Sorry to waffle but if i don't write this somewhere i will lose track of it.

I have looked into starting a cake business from home, but as we are looking to move in a few months I don't want to get set up here and move (if that makes sense), and it's also against my tenancy agreement, so when i move i'll look into that.

On the moneymaking side i made my dd's Toy Story cake for tomorrow and came in £5 under budget so can save that money, and am making my frind a cake in place of a present so that should net me another £10-£15.

I will be ebaying stuff as soon as i can brave clearing out the spare room and garage, it's on my list for next week.

just had a thought, not tried them myself but NCT (national childbirth trust) sales are meant to be good if you havechildren/babies toys and clothes to get rid of. think you get a sellers pack, and then you price all your items and they sell them for you and they keep a percentage...no idea what percentage though. Might help someone.

:hello: Just wanted to say hello to everyone and just wanted to say COULD I PLEASE JOIN YOU?

I am a bit of a "late starter" lol as I have just discovered this thread last night and I LOVE IT! What a great idea bing0 and I am really inspired by everyones posts and have to say everyone on here is so helpful and supportive - it is just great to see everyone helping each other along.

I am going to bite the bullet and aim for 10k, but will be ecstatic with any amount I make. Have been doing some Ebaying to totally clear my credit card by the end of the month and then will be starting my "pot". Off now to finish reading thread 1 as only part way through! Need to find out more about spreadsheets, changing to Ebay business, potential tax issues etc etc as well as getting my head round other things to explore! I am really excited lol!! :T Hopefully, will catch up with you all properly when I get to the end of th thread..........which may take some time :rotfl:

Sorry ladymoon, i agree with the majority of what you're saying - except the part 'solely for friends and family'. Just some objective advice - whilst these people are likely to love your stuff, they're also less likely to offer proper critiques or pay the right money! I'd love it if one of my friends baked - i could use them for every occasion. You need to establish a value - and probably more than you're cuurently stating - and get them to go with it. I wouldn't stick with friends - i know it might sound mean, but i'd start telling my friends what i'm worth (and what i should be worth) and making damn sure i earn that money! You're worth it honey x
    Just £10,852.28p to go...

    :D

    Trust that little voice in your head that says "Wouldn't it be interesting if...";
    And then do it.

Just won £20 on BB! Won £5 yesterday, but played it on the roulette and lost so already won £25, although really only £10 better off as had to put £10 in and gambled the £5. Could get addicted! Can't keep the smile off my face - only been playing for 3 days!

Also, everything going really well on eBay - all of it finishes tomorrow and got lots of bids :)

Hope everyone else is having the same success?!

Pinching Muncki's happy dance again....*dances around laughing*

    Will be lurking :D
