What thoughts do people have on selling books Amazon Vs. Greenmetropolis.
Ive listed a load on GM as it is more than the 50p each I'd get for them at a car boot sale. Would I be better listing them on Amazon?? I had a quick look and a lot seem to be going for 99p which would mean after postage you wouldnt really be making anything at all???
Thoughts anyone?? Has anyone had much luck with GM?0 -
Hmmm - first lot of items on ebay and I have just had a question from a lady in Italy and asking if I can post there.
First question....how do I get a price to quote for delivery to Italy? and second wuestion, is it really worth my while? It is for 3 pairs of boys aged 2 elasticated trousers which are currently unbid (1 watcher, presumably this Italian lady) only on at 99p.....all opinions welcome! (I have only put my items on cheap as I am using it as a learning curve!!)
Thanks in advance.......
You can get a quote on the Royal Mail website for weight and size and country you need delivered to. There are quite a few options though and I tend to find it more hassle than its worth. I will only send to UK now due to issues with items getting lost etc. Other people may have had better experiences than me though. Hope this helps.0 -

 my instinct is that it's more trouble than its worth esp. for a potentially 99p sale lol! Thank you!Life is a work in progress0 -
I am a bit rubbish at keeping up with this page. So far I have decluttered some stuff for ebay, looked at match betting and decided i like the idea but not sure if i have the time to commit to it.
I am considering free advertising. I make wedding jewellery and supply a few local bridal shops with tiaras etc. I do have a website but it is not very good and pictures are awful so I was thinking of investing some of what I make from ebay bits and bobs in a proper tripod for my camera and some daylight bulbs for lighting. then hitting all the free advertising i can find to try get some traffic to the web store and class any profit from sales generated as income for this challenge.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Re the photography bit.. Do you know anybody that could do it for you free/really cheap til you've got the money to do them more professionally yourself?? Photography students at the local college perhaps? They'll take pictures of anything. If your on Facebook abuse that for as much free advertising as possible0 -

I will only ever use International Signed for when posting abroad. I have noticed that quite a few ebayers now say they will not post to Italy due to the number of lost parcels so I'm not sure if there may be a problem or if the problem relates to the buyer iykwim . On a positive side, I have posted to USA, Thailand, Germany and France without a problem.Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1273VSP 2011 Member 92 - 723.070 -

I like the idea about College students, it would be great for them too to add it to their portfolio. You could also have a gallery made up from pictures of the actual brides in your jewellery, I'm not sure how you label your items, if you could maybe add your website to the labelling or something. I feel more confident shopping online when there are customer testimonials, etc.Sealed Pot Challenge Member 1273VSP 2011 Member 92 - 723.070 -
Had a lovely message from my buyer saying my stuff arrived safely and she loves it
So I'm a happy bunny. It's made me go and make more stuff so I can load up my shop tomorrow once I get decent light for pictures.

I've had an interesting couple of days. Loads of auctions ended in the last few days so many trips to the Post Office! Lots of money in my Paypal account though so it's all good! Still selling mostly my stuff but also a few bits that I've bought to sell on and so far so good. January's a horrendous month money wise for me (you'd think I'd learn that Christmas is always at the end of December so I should put money away rather than use December wage which has to last 6 weeks - maybe next year?!!). Anyway, I've used all my sales money to live off/pay extra bills (AA, Car Insurance, MOT plus 2 new tyres) so I haven't quite got a nest egg built up yet but it's boding well for the rest of the year. So far, by decluttering I've raised £499.87 and I've just about got a zero balance on my buy to sell spreadsheet (only £8 in the red!!) with a good few hundred pounds worth of stock still to sell.
Also did 9 mystery shopping jobs on my days off this week so that'll be another £80 in the pot when i get paid!
Todays activities include winning £3 playing roulette and found 6p at the till at Asda. Busy taking photos and listing more of my junk on ebay - it seems never ending but that's a good thing right?!
Moving onto scratchcards next - anyone got a link to Virgin?
Back to work tomorrow for a rest I think!!0
